A-Amber caramel hue with ample head and lacing.
S-Very seductive, yeasty like true Belgian tripels. Some fruit, maybe apricot white grape; something more delicate than citrus.
T-Brilliant. The characteristics of the malts shine through with the other subtle flavors there to balance it out and add complexity while keeping the effect unpretentious.
M-Was worried it would be too carbonated, but those fears were unfounded. Again, delicate with no single flavor component overpowering or disrupting things.
D-Utterly satisfying. I want to drink it on a more regular basis but feel guilty in indulging on this fine beer too often.

Poured from their capped bottle into a chalice, nice two finger head, tight small cream colored bubbles, left significant lacing. Did not hold as long as the Chimay red, but certainly above average. Color is a hazy straw orange.
Smell some nuttiness and slightly more hop notes than what I have come to expect from Chimay, but definitely pleasing. As I often say in my reviews, this is not my best area, so I often miss subtle notes.
First taste had an almost almond bright note, then the citrus, last some spice, very subtle peppery bite, not bad, don't panic, it isn't spicy in the sense that it creates heat. Like all of the Chimay brands, other flavors show up as they warm. The chalice is a must!
Mouthfeel is full and rich all the way. Unlike American attempts at this type, the Belgians know how to hide their ABV!
Overall, I prefer Chimay Red, followed by Blue, then this. That being said, this is an outstanding Belgian Triple, well worth the experience, my guess is it is a great first Triple, because the color and aroma will please many different palates.
