Bottle poured into my Chimay chalice.
A: Remarkable shade of a hazy orange-yellow huge with a huge live frothy head. These beers look immaculate being poured into the chalice.
S: Earthy, malty-sweet, and some banana on the nose, but the scent isn't overwhelming.
T: Smooth, lively, earthy/malt sweetness and just the right amount of bitter on the back to keep things in balance. Banana sweetness also comes through in the middle, and sticks around all the way to the finish line. The beer is delightfully balanced. It isn't at all overwhelming or overpowering. It's artfully balanced. Well played, Chimay.
M: Light and lively in the mouth, with a bitter-sweet finish that leaves a nice flavor behind as it goes.
D: High. Would have had another one right after this if I'd had it.

Poured from their capped bottle into a chalice, nice two finger head, tight small cream colored bubbles, left significant lacing. Did not hold as long as the Chimay red, but certainly above average. Color is a hazy straw orange.
Smell some nuttiness and slightly more hop notes than what I have come to expect from Chimay, but definitely pleasing. As I often say in my reviews, this is not my best area, so I often miss subtle notes.
First taste had an almost almond bright note, then the citrus, last some spice, very subtle peppery bite, not bad, don't panic, it isn't spicy in the sense that it creates heat. Like all of the Chimay brands, other flavors show up as they warm. The chalice is a must!
Mouthfeel is full and rich all the way. Unlike American attempts at this type, the Belgians know how to hide their ABV!
Overall, I prefer Chimay Red, followed by Blue, then this. That being said, this is an outstanding Belgian Triple, well worth the experience, my guess is it is a great first Triple, because the color and aroma will please many different palates.
