Known as Speciale De Poteaupré from the abbey's cafe menu.
The Chimay Gold, which is brewed in the heart of Scourmont Abbey, was for long reserved for the monastic community and its guests and staff. Its refreshing aromas of hops and spice are now yours to try.

Pours fine golden with two finger head that subsides relatively quickly. Smooth and mellow in the mouth, floral notes and taste but a little mild and light for me. Decent but not their best, doesn't really stack with chimay's white imo.

The pour is golden yellow. The taste is belgian yeast, coriander, & orange. Cheers! B

330ml bottle into a Chimay Goblet. Coding hard to understand.
Looks very good. Hazy dull yellowish body. Generous white head leaves a sheet of lacing.
Floral aroma.
On tasting, at first a little jarring with the floral and spice mix. But this one grew on me. Smooth, easy drinking. No harsh bitterness or perfume notes.
Mouth medium, finish a little drying.
Overall, ended up being an enjoyable drinking experience. Wouldn't say no to another.

True to the style light Belgian style beer. Definitely tastes like a Belgian while going down very easily. Not their best beer they make but definitely not their worst. Too light for me personally.
