Appearance: Chimay Première pours a opaque hazelnut brown-to-copper red colour along with a thick, two fingers tall 'n' creamy, light beige crown that diminishes completely after the duration of say 1½ minutes and plenty of carbonation.
Smell: Strong scents honey-dipped bread, peach, some passion fruit with a backdrop of yeast and caramel fudge -- superb!
Taste: Reminiscent to the experience on would get of mixing a cherry coke with a birch beer (id est: sweet sensations along with some smoked ones topped with a reappearance, of caramel fudge in the aftertaste).
Mouthfeel: Very creamy, and yet so fresh at the same time, not heavy at all! Maybe not the most impossible task to pull of, but Chimay Première does so mainly thanks to the combination of a medium body and rich carbonation in great balance with one and another.
Drinkability: Surprisingly sweet and caramelly for my part, however only to the benefit of this great beer. This is my first one, I've kept it for som time, now I know it was worth the wait and that it's time for me to get another one aswell!
