From BeerAdvocate magazine Issue #70 (November 2012):
Bold, you could say a bit brash as well with the boozy character but that could be expected from a 10.0%abv Tripel. The yeast sure had one hell of a party, complexities are off the charts. Any true beer geek will want to grab more than just on bottle, we have a feeling it could age quite well. One can only wish that this was not a limited brew.
STYLE: Tripel
ABV: 10.0%
AVAILABILITY: Limited
LOOK: Slightly hazy golden straw, amazing display of lace
SMELL: Lemon custard, quince paste, minty, bready, nutty yeast, faint rose water, granola, alcohol, wild herbs
TASTE: Deep smoothness, moderate sized body, boozy kick, fresh herbs, hoppy throughout, balanced bitterness, pineapple skin, dragon fruit, pink peppercorn, grapenuts, yeast, medicinal phenols, gummy, spicy, dry yeasty finish

Best chimay i have tried i think. It was a bottle pour. Rivals my prference for blue but definitely has a certain spiced edge that the other offerings dont have. Kinda expensive. Get some!

Medium sweet (less than expected, which is great) honey ceral vanilla with boozy spicy herbal finisf and fine lively carbo in full body blends it together perfectly. EXCELLENT.

Chimay calls this a "Blond" on the Label, but it is very much a Tripel.A really good one at that.

Ooh this is a big hitter. Balling with murky gold haze, bitter hops and a capped with a foamy massive head this one is not meek at heart. There's spice, there's florals, there is buubly effervescence, it hits big on nose and mouth and the ABV is well masked. Oof.

Yields a glowing golden color with a huge, stable white head.
The aromas on this inherit wet grass, raisins and toffee with a touch of earth to it. It‘s also developing a herbal sage note among plum and sea buckthorn.
Has a light and well balanced body with a noteable effervescence in the finish, creating a complex, yet refreshing beer.
Tastes of spruce, caramel, sweet, slightly rustic toffee and whipped cream, creating a gentle smoothness. Has a rock sugar defined middle part with lighter sage notes and dried grass, together with a pleasant leaf dryness. Finishes with hay, honey and spicy garden leaves, ending with a long lasting, flowery and dry aftertaste.
Very well rounded, complex and smooth, this is really convincing.

On tap at The Brass Tap, Cedar Falls, IA; served in a snifter. Hazy, light golden color, with a white head and a little streaky lacing. Fruity, floral, and funky, with an herbal and spicy note. Very drinkable for a big beer, with the alcohol unmistakable but not too obtrusive. Medium-bodied, well balanced, with a dry and bitter finish. An outstanding Belgian beer.

Jeezus, well now I wasn't prepared for this one. First sip, easily amongst the most unique beers I've ever had in my 45 years of drinking. Peppery and strong, alcohol comes up in front. But second and third sips, I'm getting spearmint. Yes, spearmint! Maybe that's the 'secret' spice they add, even though mint ain't no spice. This beer is extraordinary. 10% ABV, a thousand percent enjoyment.
