Bottle #2 of the great Aunt review train.
Vision
Hazy yellow body, pure white head ( 3/4" ) that dissipates to an acceptable collar. Reminds me of a turbid orange juice from concentrate. Nice yeasty appearance without being bottle conditioned. Minimal carbonation in the vision.
Bouquet
Ridiculously faint body with the only aroma being baking bread laced around wheat notes. I want more than just malty bread, but I can't find anything.
Flavor Profile
Strong malt, minute amount of hops that perk up towards the finish, and the faint tinge of alcohol. I am a bit shocked to be picking up the medicinal flavors in a 5.5%.
Oral Sensations
This beer has a great amount of carbonation. It is almost as if the carbonation is a delicate flavor that enhances the lackluster profile. Watery body and smooth drinking.
Conclusions
I'd definitely have it again. Would I suggest this to a friend who loves hefeweizens? Definitely not. This beer is confused on its style, I would say.
The alcohol makes it quite easy to have a few in an evening.
