The community of Talkeetna embraced the One Tree project by harvesting and using a single birch tree in its entirety, fostering a greater appreciation for the versatility, value, and beauty of the Birch. In honor of the project, we offer up this smooth Belgian Golden Strong Ale, primed with locally harvested Kahiltna Birchworks' birch syrup and bottle conditioned for a naturally sublime experience. Join us in raising our glasses to the bountiful Birch and the dedicated people who make Talkeetna great.

Bottle shared by Stacey, thanks for the hookup.
Fairly clear golden with a fluffy white head. Earthy light lemon and funk on the nose. honey like malty sweetness. Couldn't really pick out the birch but it was a tasty strong farmhouse like ale.

Poured from a bomber purchased at the brewpub in Talkeetna
L: Pours a clear golden copper color with three fingers of foamy white head. Great lacing.
S: Sweet sugars and Belgian yeast. Citrus and cloves. Spicy and bready.
T/F: Sweetness hits first... syrupy (assuming it's from the birch) and malty with a nice spiciness. Belgian yeast esters abound.... and there's a tangy flavor, again.... maybe birch? Citrus for sure... with lemon rind mixed with clove. Well carbonated and zesty.
O: Another interesting and Alaskan inspired brew. A bit sweet but still quite nice. Definitely a Belgian Strong Golden but different enough to be memorable. Very glad I snagged one.

750 at cellar temp into a Teku
L: Beautiful clear copper hue with an 2-finger ivory head which is slow to dissipate.
S: Birch syrup right off the bat, some spicy Belgian esters,
T: Sweetness is present in the front, alcohol heat, not much in the way of bitterness
M: Alcohol heat, well carbonated to style
O: The sweetness seems to dominate, not real balanced, but still a nice take on the style -
