Bad Henry is a bready malty IPA in the English style. Cascade and fuggles hops are used to create a slightly citrus but mellow hop character. Goes well with food. Avoid if you're looking for a hop bomb or something bitter. No noticeable bitterness despite the 72 ibu.

Wow....this is an awesome IPA. Beer pours very nicely with a cottoney frothy head. It is not a hopped up super-IPA [i/e arrogant bastard] but it is a beautifully tasty, CONTROLED IPA that has a wonderfully bright front with the slight bitterness in the back.

Purchased at Bottle Revolution in Raleigh.

Dark orange pour with 2 fingers of white cream head. Very nice retention all the way through the glass. Decent lace as well with nice rings all around. Active carbonation.

Nose is light pine and bread malt. Caramel and toffee back that up. West coast/English ipa?

Taste is very sweet. Lots of hop oil. Pine, but lighter than expected. Lots of bread malt along with caramel. Really sweet. Hop bitters want to be there, try to be there, but just didn't make the trip.

Feel is a little too thick and resiny. Not over the top, but really needs bitters to balance the feel.

Surprisingly drinkable, but not what I expected or wanted from an Oregon IPA.

22 oz bottle poured into a large mug

Pours dark orange-amber with a fairly small pale head, small amount of fine active carbonation. Smell is mild but hoppy. Citrusy.

Taste is bready and malty with a nice spicy hops flair. It's mild, but not bad.

Mouthfeel is mild, medium, middle of the road. Overall, it's not bad.

decent with a nice amber color and a moderate head of white on the top. Even color and a nice carbonation throughout the session. The aroma was nicely balanced. Light pine hops, hints of bready malts and a light touch of caramel on the nose. Well balanced but nothing really jumping out at me. Smooth, even flavor here with the first sip identical to the last. Light caramel flavors that have overlapped with nice touches of hops. Light to medium body and an easy sessionability

Poured from a 22 into a tulip

A- Cloudy copper with a thin but inviting head

S- Orange blossom, faint nectar honey sweet. Extremely pleasant, and intriguing to what is to follow..the taste. Questioning: for an IPA?

T- Nose defines the taste profile. Interesting "IPA". Fruity profile, brewandbbq mentioned marmalade, which I contend to find in tasting. Sweet.

M- A bit sticky on the lips, slight oily on the tongue.

D- Too sweet for a session. Too sweet for an IPA? A bigger hop profile would be pleasing. I couldnt drink more than this 22 of it. Wouldn't try this one again unless I knew the recipe was reformulated.
For a hop headed IPA fan, this "IPA" is unbalanced with the nectar sweetness and nothing to stand up to it. Pretty disappointed.

22oz bottle.

Pours hazy copper with a minimal bead of short-lived white froth. A placid, barren surface with minimal lacing throughout the glass.

Aromatics are mainly sweet malt and citrus notes akin to marmalade. The hops are certainly subdued for the style and plenty of caramel and toffee prevail.

The mouthfeel is sticky, tacky, and syrupy. Very light carbonation and a chewy body.

Orange oil with hints of pine and grapefruit lead off the palate. Plenty of plump malt here also. Bitterness is low for the style and the beer is remarkable only with the amount of orange blossom honey overtones it carries.

Finishes with lingering sweet malt, orange jam, and a trace of bitterness.

Needs more hops and carbonation, less malt, and certainly a fresher example would help this one out.

22 oz bomber from Roths Sunnyside Market, Salem Dark, slightly hazy amber coloured beer with a small dirty white head. Very fruity, lemon, grapfruit aromas, slightly medicinal. Very malty take on the style, bitter sweet malts with a strong toffeeish even treacle finish, very subdued lemony hop. Pretty thin on the palte..but not too bad..not very carbonated. Overall pretty dissapointing..i think this might be old..or slightly infected
