Clear, dark red amber with moderate off-white head and great retention but no real lacing. Earthy malt and juniper aroma. Balanced sweetness of flavors that follow the nose. Lightly sour and the finish is fairly clean with a sweet fruity linger. Silky smooth with light lingering bite.

Relatively strong, intriguing flavor. This is a very enjoyable beer if you like the flavors. It looks quite dark for something that seems like an almost spring flavor although I guess it could be a coming into spring beer. It's very flavorful start to finish. I expected something like this when I bought Rogues Juniper Pale Ale aged in gin barrels; much more enjoyable and cheaper.

A: Pours a deep brown/ruby color with a small off-white head on top, about a finger in height. Decent head retention leaving a thin cap on top. Sporadic lacing.

S: On the maltier side with some deep caramel aromas, some bready malt, and a little bit of juniper, but rather faint. Not much in terms of hop presence on the aroma.

T: Again, on the malty side for a red ale with a heavy caramel and bready flavor with hints of cocoa and a little bit of juniper.

M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation, easy drinking.

O: A decent red ale, was hoping for a bit more from the juniper which I feel makes this beer a bit unique in a style that is wide ranging in terms of its interpretation.

Pours a finger and half of head on a deep red-brown colored body.
The aroma is grassy, juniper berries and dry hay.
The taste is balanced with some mild lemon and juniper bitterness coming through.
The texture is dry, crisp with moderate carbonation.
A good ale and the juniper adds a nice dry bitterness effect.

Appearance: (4.0)
- Nice rich dark copper color. Amber or red ale style characteristics. Ever so slightly cloudy. Nice bright off-white foamy head settled to a spotty chunky foam.. lace about the glass. Good looking beer.

Smell: (3.5)
- Very bready and roasty caramel malt. Sweet biscuit and grain. Husky. Light fruit, esters, yeasty character. Not so much in the hops department.. maybe an earthy touch.

Taste: (4.5)
- Wonderful grain, perfect sweetness, light juniper touch, esters, earthy grassy touch. Biscuit and bread, roasty caramel. Very well balanced and tasty. Taste outperforms the smell.

Mouth Feel: (4.5)
- This beer has almost the perfect feel to it. Perfect carbonation, light to medium body, and just the right cloying chewiness and drying qualities.

Overall: (4.0)
- A very solid, balanced, and well brewed beer. Not overly fruity by any means, and the great taste caught me a bit off guard. Very good beer and well worth the purchase.

Poured in pint glass after long walk with 5 month puppy. Dark copper appearance but good clarity. Minimal head, light lacing. Earthy smell, no overpowering malt or hops. Light refreshing taste, bitterness that hangs out, not quite sour berry taste. Mouthfeel thin, but in a good way. Very good beer, one of my new favorite amber ales.

Pours a really lovely ruby-brown colour. Expecting a gin-worthy explosion of juniper on the nose, what you really get is an earthy, herbal whiff and some nutty notes as well. The palate is similar. There are a lot of earthy notes from the hops and juniper. Also some nice nutty, roasty malt notes. Drinks kind of like an amber, kind of like a brown ale. Definitely a unique beer.

Not a big fan of this, the juniper doesn't really show up too much, and its fairly bitter without the body to back it up.

A: Clear and transparent rudy brown brew with just a finger of off white head. Slight lacing around the rim.

S: Initial strong smells of malty barley together with yeasty bread followed by a slight scents of gin.

T: Herby tonic taste upfront together with deeply cooked, almost burnt, caramel.

M: Thin to medium bodied and average carbonation.

O: The herb and gin flavour is unique and while good on its own, it would serve as a good base for a cocktail.

Nice copper pour, white head with decent lacing.

Smells, super nice. Lots of juniper and a nice malt background.

Taste: Not bad when it is cold. The juniper is nice and very present. As it warms, though, the beer becomes pretty harsh. Kinda grody actually. Bleh.

Mf is a little watery.

Pretty happy I didn't choose to share this beer with my homebrew club members. Its nice when cold, but when it dips a little below fridge temp it gets a harshness that makes it really unpleasant.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler on 03.23.14.

A: See through dark copper. Off white head. Nice lacing.

S: Caramel, dark fruit/berry. Sweet smelling.

T: Berry dominates. Woodiness, caramel, some bitterness are there too.

M: Creamy smooth.

O: This was a very interesting beer. I wasn't sure if the juniper berries would go well in an amber ale, but they do. The berries came on first, then the caramel, followed by a slight woodiness, and then a touch of bitterness. There was a great balance between the berries and the woodiness too. I enjoyed this one.

Beer is a dark rich red hue, and very clear. One finger of off white head recedes to light lacing. Looks fairly inviting. Smells of roasted malts and has an almost smoked aroma. Slight perfumy notes. Very malty taste with slight sweetness. Don't get alot of juniper berries but they do make an appearance in the finish. Bitter and roasty aftertaste for most part. Creamy medium body that is quite enjoyable. Very fulfilling amber. I wish the juniper berries would have come to the dance a little more but I still enjoyed this none the less.
