Just a quick one to give a shout out to one of two stores that I frequent at home.
The Store is definitely a college bottle shop, most of the cooler space is devoted to macros and they sell lots of soda pop for mixed drinks. The beer is all refrigerated. The Store really has a lot going for it otherwise though: their service is phenomenal, lots of communication and information given on limited releases if you ask. They really don't have a good selection of anything but New Holland, Bell's, Founders, and Short's, but they get A LOT from those companies, more of their limited releases than anyone else in the area (multiple cases of Black Note, for example). Finally, their prices on limited releases are great.
Good store, definitely worth a visit if there's something special out from the aforementioned companies.

Originally, The Store was located a block north from its current location in Mount Pleasant. However, two years ago, one of the adjoining businesses, Pizza King, burned down, leaving The Store with smoke damage. They decided to relocate farther south in the University Mall stretch of businesses.
The staff here are really its best asset. Every time I've gone in to see what new things they have had in stock I've happily returned with something new to try, all of which have turned out splendidly. These people really do know their product, and it shows.
Their selection is broad and diverse all throughout the year. They have a number of seasonal beers that they stock, as well as specialty beers from local breweries such as Mountain Town. They also have a wide variety of Michigan brews, including but not limited to Bells, Founders, Shorts, Michigan, Dark Horse, Arcadia, and New Holland. Everything is well organized, and finding what you're looking for is a straight forward ordeal.
Their prices are everywhere from $2 40-oz. bottles to $16 12-oz/4 packs. Seasonal beers can be more expensive than those they sell all year round. On average, one can expect a four pack to be in the $7-$12 range, with 6-packs ranging from $7-$13 Some beers will cost more, however those are usually seasonal and/or made in small batches.
Overall, I strongly recommend The Store as a Party Store. Their selection is wide, their prices are fair, and their employees are knowledgeable and very helpful.
Check it out sometime!
