GLASS: Lindemans Flute
TEMP: Cellared @ approx 45 degrees
This pours a translucent, dark brown color with deep ruby tinting. It forms a head of medium brown colored foam, about one finger thick. The retention is not long, but that's typical of the style, to my experience. Lacing is light and foamy and rather slick.
The sourness in this one seems very big, on first scent. With a few more inhalations though, it begins to find it's level of balance. The sourness is still what you notice first, but there's a good amount of oak in here, also. Big notes of cherries. A decent presence of barnyard funk. Some tart, purple grape skins. There is also an unexpected hint of maltiness.
Oh man, that is delicious.
I have no idea if they use cherries in this brew, but the cherry notes in this are huge! Notes of sweet Ranier cherries and tart cherry skins. A beautiful presence of grape flavor, both tart and sweet. There is a nice amount of caramel malt sweetness, which balances the whole sour thing. Mild notes of black currants. Mild hints of hay/barnyard funk. A nice, mellow, oakiness sits on top of all of this, smoothing it all out, but never getting in the way.
This has a solid medium body. The carbonation level is medium-to-high, yet manages to not get in the way of your enjoyment. It is crisp and light, yet almost full and lightly creamy, all at the same time.
This one is absolutely wonderful and at only 6.0%abv it could be enjoyed on a regular basis. Now, if only I could get it at my local liquor store, instead of having to travel/trade to get it...

14oz pour on-tap at bier markt mississauga
a: a very gorgeous clear ruby red with about a finger of off-white frothy head
s: really sour vinegar up front, but underneath that is a blend of woody notes and tart fruits, mainly cherries
t: follows the nose. tart to begin with, but leads quickly into fruity notes -- cherries, slight tart apples, berries, even some vinous qualities. the oak flavours add a dimension of complexity, working really well with the fruit tastes. no alcohol whatsoever. dry finish
m: medium-bodied with medium-to-high prickly carbonation, but it's kind of creamy. i love this mouthfeel
o: what an absolute delight of a beer. it's sour, fruity, tasty, and refreshing. i'm glad to have had the opportunity to taste this, and i'll definitely have this again in the future if i ever see it

Pours a brilliant amber with red highlights and a lingering, frothy khaki head. Aroma is laden with balsamic vinegar and oak. Tart cherry surfaces late. Flavor is slightly sweet, but the balsamic vinegar acetic notes counter to balance. Cherry notes mingle with oak, and somehow, there's an almost creamy mouthfeel. Not as tart as some, but very characterful. It's sweeter than I recall.
