Pours a red, barely able to see through, minimal head, no lacing. The smell is tart, sour, hints of breadiness.
The taste is less tart than the smell. It's actually a quite mellow sour (note: I had just tried a Westbrook Gose, which was more sour than this beer). I would think someone looking into sours could start with this, and if they enjoyed it, could take the next step.
So overall, as a beer, this is very solid as its a bridge, I feel, between an acquired style (not one that I necessarily have) and a standard beer. As I said above, a mildly adventurous beer drinker should try this to see where they might want to experiment next.
