Very relaxed atmosphere. Relatively quiet for a bar and easy to chat with friends or the bartender. You won't find douche-bags looking to start fights or hook up with the sluttiest girl in the place. Both times I went were on weeknights, however. Not sure what the weekend crowd is like.

Good quality beer overall. I have tried 4 beers from Six Row. The DIPA and porter were excellent, their rye beer was good and the ESB was average. I just wish they bottled and sold them in six packs.

Service was excellent both times. The staff are knowledgable and friendly and take the time to explain the characteristics of the beers to the customers.

Selection is ok. Not too many beers to choose from but they are still relatively new. What they have now is pretty solid though. They do offer boards of 5 beers of your choosing for those who like to sample.

Never tried the food though I did look at the menu once. From what I remember, it seemed they served mainly pasta and sandwiches. Not a huge menu but descent if you just want a quick, reasonably priced bite to eat. My friend ate some of the pasta and said is was good.

Overall, this is a pretty good place. Enjoyed the beer and the atmosphere. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you are in St. Louis.

Just moved to town, and lo and behold... a brewery two blocks away. This is, at the same time, a great thing, and a TERRIBLE thing.

First, the good aspects;
They make good beer. I'm putting that first for a reason. I have yet to experience a beer here that blows my socks off and makes an indelible mark on my life, but I also haven't had a bad beer here yet (admittedly I've only had about a half dozen of their offerings, but even the styles I don't particularly care for were well crafted).
I was worried that, essentially being on campus, it would be overrun with douchey frat types, etc. This has not been my experience thus far. Maybe that will change on weekend nights in the fall, but so far, it just seems to be a pretty standard little american pub. Some professionals, some college kids, some locals... just people coming out to enjoy good beer and maybe a bite to eat. I've only eaten here once, but I really enjoyed it. It tasted like everything was homemade, from scratch; not just a prepackaged meal heated up kind of thing.
I've only ever sat at the bar, so all of my interactions have been with the bartenders, and there's a decent variety there, mainly populated by the type of individual I like to have pouring my drinks. Not overly chatty, but not surly and detached either; seemed knowledgeable about his craft, but not condescending. Willing to discuss other local beers (not sending me away to another bar, but not belittling the contributions of the other local breweries to the local craft brew scene -- I appreciate this level of honesty and communication). They've only got their own brews on tap as far as I can tell, but I don't really have a problem with this. Prices are reasonable; not cheap by any means, but certainly not gouging: about in line with what I would expect. And there are special deals every night, so...

OK, now, the bad:
I should not be living within two blocks of a brewery right now. I'm back in school and, as a result, very poor/broke. I shouldn't be spending money at a brewery, but I already know that I will be. CONUNDRUM!

Anyway, if you're in the area, definitely stop by. Good people, good beer, good food; it's a good place.

great beers here at six row and a nice atmosphere. dimmer lighting, soft music, quiet chatter. very small bar area and a eating area as well, board games to play, BA magazine on hand. was one of my favorite st louis breweries. about 8 or ten brews to pick from, helpful service. prices were a bit high for a tasting flight and for a growler, but a fair pint. i thought the vanilla bean porter was their best beer, but all were delicious. i will undoubtedly be back here, but lookout for cops driving out of here. they are all over the place!
