Many thanks to DING for the chance to taste this- one of his fav local breweries. This is #BOTG 74.

Poured from bottle into DFH snifter. Pours a nice orange/amber color, really nice creamy white head, nice retention. After popping this, a pungent wave of dank hops hit my nose. Nice smelling IPA. After getting it into a glass, along with the grassy hops, I get some really nice malt sweetness behind it. A good smelling and looking IPA so far. Taste- Really nice caramel/tropical fruit sweetness, nice light carbonation, and appropriate bitterness on the end. This is super well balanced, and so drinkable. Love the mouthfeel on this one too- pretty light/medium bodied. This is a really solid IPA- so drinkable, nicely balanced, and really nice malt backbone and good hop character. This is way better than the reviews describe. Thanks again DING!

This IPA pours very well with great head retention.

There was a definite presence of hops in this beer.

I found it to be well balanced, not my favorite IPA but definitely drinkable.

After drinking, there was still a presence of floral hops lingering. Over all a year round drinkable beer for me.

Thanks to cpinto6 for another new brewery for me to try.

Pours a nice big creamy head that rises 1 finger and fades semi slowly with some soapy lacing, over hazy yeast chunk filled orange pale carrot colored beer.

Nose has some decent hops in there, mostly an earthy bittering hop of east coast style, but it also brings some light floral hops, a bit of citrus, light fruity clementine like aroma, and hints of a fluffy aromatic light sweet malt base. Nose isn't bad, but just a bit too light overall.

Taste starts with more hops, again with an East Coast like earthy bittering hop, but gets a bit more herbal and slightly gritty, a bit of a grainy malt also comes out, with light sweetness and hint of straw like malt, but fairly light. The hops mutate to a light citrus candy, clementine like again, light grassy and floral hops as well. the grainy gritty feel takes away from it slightly, but overall not bad. The finish gets a bit more bitter and borders astringent but never goes beyond the line, and a bit more grassy herbal like hops, and malty like lingering taste.

Mouth is med bodied, good carb, bit gritty and abrasive feeling.

Overall not bad, decent hops but not quite the fresh big hoppy IPA, more like bittering herbal earthy grassy like hops, with a grainy gritty abrasive malt backing. Quite quaff-able but since I've been hooked on big citrusy tropical fruit IPAs these earthy bittering ones just don't cut it.

A - Pours a pretty clouded amber color with a small white head

S - Some hoppy and citrus notes

T - Pretty hoppy and a little floral. I've got a hint of grapefruit too. Well balanced.

M - Little bit of carbonation, light-bodied

D - Pretty high drinkability

This IPA is clean and simple; very easy to enjoy.

App- pours out of a bomber a pleasant yellowish-orange. A little hazy with a thick frothy lingering head. Heavy chunky lacing.

Smell- coy, hoppiness, more floral than anticipated from a 6.7%abv.

Taste- again, more assertive than I anticipated. Certainly not a DIPA kind of assertive, but nice. Refreshing, would seem to be a great beer for warm seasons.

Conc- overall a surprisingly enjoyable beer. Surprising only b/c my inclination is typically more toward DIPAs, but this is a solid beer.

880th Review on BA
Bottle to Piraat Tulip
22 oz

Thanks to @thehughbachi for this one

App- A good mix of oranges in a glass. Nice hazy and soft glowing color balance. A good puffy two finger head wth good cling lines to it.

Smell- A good bright mix of citrus. Lending more towards a deep citrus vs bright. Nectarine, grapefruits. A bit crisp malt with some some earthy, bready bitter.

Taste- A pretty good smaller IPA. Good bitterness with some citrus and some good grassy and pine notes. A bit full on flavor with some good balance not leaning too citrusy or too piney.

Mouth- Medium bodied with full flavor profile and a wet medium carbonation level. Good residual pine flavors.

Drink- A tasty little beer. This is a good one on a hot day. A little to piney for me in a single IPA but still good and refreshing. I've been very happy with Jailhouse so far. Thanks Hugh!!

Poured into my Le Cheval Blanc pint glass. Pours a hazy copper with a rocky, off white head that drops slowly, leaving some chunky lacing.

Aromas of citrus and pine, pink grapefruit and pink grapefruit zest. Hints of malt in there somewhere.

Flavors of citrus hops, pink grapefruit, orange, grapefruit zest, caramel malt, some grainy malt in the background. Finish is long, with citrus hop bitterness lingering into the fade.

Mouthfeel is medium, with sticky malt, mouthcoating hop bitterness, and a good level of carbonation.

Overall a good effort. Nice balanced IPA. Not too assertive.

22 ounce bottle poured into pint glass

Poured a slightly hazy dark golden/orange color with 1 finger head that did not last long.

Smells of pine, grapefruit, nice citrus scent.

Tastes much like it smells, good citrus flavor with a dry, slightly bitter finish.

Decent mouthfeel, medium carbonation.

Overall a pretty good IPA. Nice summertime beer.
