No label information. Saison Reprieve French-Style Ale is brewed in the style of a Saison ale, available as a spring/summer seasonal in 22 oz. bottles or on draft.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottles to a tulip glass. Served above 57º Fahrenheit.

(Appearance) This beer is easily excited from the outset and foams up easily upon opening and pouring. The beer pours a frothy foam head of a pearl-white color over a medium amber body with mild haziness and plentiful spritely carbonation. Retention is very good and lacing is medium-thick and patchy. 3.75

(Smell) Wheat and pilsner malts round the body with a moderate sweetness, a light hop bitterness with grassy and floral notes, and a touch of white pepper and coriander spice round out the nose. The yeast profile is fairly tame from what I gather and contributes to smoothening out the spiciness and building a fruit profile of apple and white grape. The potency is moderate. 3.5

(Taste) Dry pilsner malts with a touch of wheat body and a generous coriander spiciness on the end. Accentuated by a grassy hop with a mild bitterness. The yeast profile comes across fairly simple, with a little bit of cider fruit and some added spiciness but little to no funk keeps things clean and simple, which is completely fine by me for a beer that sits at the relaxed edge of the saison flavor scale. 3.75

(Mouthfeel) The texture is medium chewy, smooth and moderate dry. Carbonation generates a medium spritely buzz on the tongue for a moderate crispness. The body is medium+ for the style, medium overall. Balance is very slightly spicy, bitter and acidic over sweet. Alcohol presence is very mild to none, there are no discernible off flavors. 3.75

(Overall) Reprieve sizes up as a decent saison with an enjoyable malt base, a tame level of hoppiness and a mild but enjoyable yeast profile that, while simple, keeps things decidedly Saison about this beer. It holds up firmly until the fall season, so its worth a shot if you can nab one on a markdown deal. Hopefully, in the near future, Reprieve will follow suit alongside its year round beers, making a transition to the far more session-worthy and bargain priced 12 oz. 6 packs. 3.75

Thanks to AtlCarl for sending me this as an extra. Always greatly appreciated when traders take the time to read my profile and know to send me saisons as extras. :)

Pours a very bright but hazy lemon, sunshine yellow with astoundingly tall and resilient head. Didn't even give this an aggressive pour at all and it filled the whole glass with a pure white foamy head that refuses to go anywhere. Beautiful.

Smell is tart lemon, orange peel, bright flowers, spices, champagne like yeast

The taste is a little less complex than expected. Lemon again but it's not as bright or tart as in the nose, more orange flavor than the nose, mild floral notes. Spice and yeast is subdued. Solid but I expected better after appearance and nose.

Strangely, despite the remarkable head, the mouthfeel is slightly watery. Very bubbly but it's just thin and doesn't quite come together. Not bad, but disappointing still.

Overall, a solid saison, but better to look at and sniff on than to drink unfortunately. Still pretty good though!

I do enjoy me a good Farmhouse saison, so let's hope this is good, thanks to cpinto6.

Pours a fast rising huge 3+ finger pasty white fizzy head that fades semi quickly but not as fast as I expected, lots of spotted lacing, initial pour (sans sediment) yields a crystal clear pilsner straw color. I was only able to stir up the slightest haze with almost no sediment surprisingly.

Nose starts a little floral and effervescent, lemony straw and hay, grassy, citrusy, light sweet malts with hint of wheat like character, light saison spices, hint of a grassy hop character I think as well.

Taste starts crisp and quite straw like, almost German pilsner like, with light sweet malts, a little wet hay and some farmhouse characters but not much for funk, and just a bit of wheat again. The straw characters really go strong and turn a bit grassy, and that's when the grassy slightly earthy spicy hops kick in with a med to milder bitterness but enough to let you know they are there. Light saison spices in the middle, with plenty of citrus, little lemon zest, lemon grass, and just a hint of orange peel citrus. Finish is drier but sticky, lingering straw and hay malts, little more farmhouse with hint of funk, lots more citrus, lemon, grassy earthy hops and bitterness lingering.

Mouth is med to a bit lighter bodied, tons of effervescent carbonation.

Overall pretty good, a straight up saison with very little farmhouse funk but a nice malt profile and light but nice hop character, quite drinkable.
