The atmosphere of this place is really chill. It is very laid back for a sports bar, not too loud.

It is a smaller place, but they have pretty solid service. Subdued lighting, but that is what one would come to expect at a bar. A little on the loud side with the music being too loud, however in the summer time they have a nice back deck that overlooks the paint creek river.

The selection on tap is outstanding. There are 40+ taps in stock. They have the usual BMC crap, but they have a great selection of craft beer to. I saw magic hat #9, haze, Weistephaner, Bell's oberon, two hearted, and Amber ale. They had four different taps of Dragonmead on tap. Kuhnheen DRIPA, Dogfish 90 min IPA, Short's Bellaire Brown ale, Brooklyn lager, Arcadia, and these are just the ones that I remember.

Price was not too bad overall and I will definitely be visiting again.

I'm new to Rochester (far north suburbs of Detroit), and I think this place is a real find. I was surprised to not see it listed here already, as they boast 42 beers on tap. OK - a few of those are dross (Miller Lite, etc.), but they have an impressive selection of craft beers and imports on draft for what is, after all, a neighborhood tavern. It's right on the main drag in this little town, not too far from the very reputable Rochester Mills Brewing Co. Friendly, walkable surrounding area. Haven't met the owner, but apparently selections change periodically (a few each month). He's not big on hawking this place's great beer selection, it seems.

Most recent visit saw several Michigan selections, including Dragonmead Final Absolution and Under the Kilt Wee Heavy, Founders Dirty Bastard, Arcadia Sky High Rye, Shorts Bellaire Brown and Nicie Spicie, Michigan Brewing Co.'s High Seas IPA, Frankenmuth Dunkel, and Kuhnhenn Simcoe Silly. No Bell's, oddly enough. Other interesting selections from Brooklyn, Stone, Magic Hat, Abita, et.al. Samplers available (4 five-oz. glasses for 5.95, which seems like a pretty good deal to me). Imports are not an area I know much about, but there were several German and English selections. Also some bottles, including selections from Detroit Beer Co. One warning - beer menu isn't necessarily up to date (though taps are well in sight almost anywhere in the place), and ABV is not listed on the page. Some staff know their beer, others do not.

I've only gone in on weekday evenings, when it's not that crowded. I gather weekends can get rather nuts. Small place, but friendly. Food is quite good - really good burgers (buffalo!), and pizzas. 3 big tv's with sports above bar. In warm weather, there is a large deck in back with lovely views of Paint Creek (really nice area to live in!). Inside is a bit smoky, but as of May 2010, MI establishments won't allow smoking.

Really great little neighborhood place. Worth seeking out if you are north of "the D"!
