Can.

A: Moderately hoppy with aromas of pine, resin, and citrus with a moderate malt presence and slight sweetness.

A: Copper color, clear with a moderate white head that has decent retention, light lacing in the glass.

T: Fairly malty upfront, with a bready like quality, light amount of rye spice, moderate hop flavors of citrus, pine, and resin, moderate hop bitterness with a semi-dry finish.

M: Full bodied with moderate carbonation, fairly smooth, slightly sticky, with a light alcoholic warmth.

O: Solid; definitely a big and bold beer and almost borders on being an American Barleywine. Tasty, though could be better balanced.

It's not often that a beer makes me cough, but I was like Miss Kitty with a shot of whiskey after a gulp of this. Color is an intense coppery red amber with a brief foam. Mouthfeel is like the best mouthwash you ever tasted. Lovely off-white foam. Smells like dessert.

This is like some kind of large, untrained mutt. Your furniture is not safe. The sweet dope is ridiculous, the alcohol is to gasp for, and the bitter yet sweet intensity will clear your sinuses. Surprisingly hoppy with a big bitter aftertaste.

I'm a big fan of Eagle Rock, and I can also say this is one of the strangest concoctions I've ever taste. Winey and syrupy. Hot with alcohol. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Bottlecraft - North Park in San Diego.

Pours a ruddy brown, kind of a deep liquid rust. Minimal head. Still laces the sides alright, though

The nose is sweet and pops with juicy fruits. A touch of tobacco, lots of caramel, some pineapple,

The taste starts off with a ball of piney bitter wrapped up in a caramel/toffee/honey sweet dough. Carries both elements forth, meeting with a bit of spiceness that is undoubtedly party rye, but also might be some hops. Toasty, the alcohol makes an appearance about 2/3 of the way in.

A fair amount of carbonation, and the finish is bitter (more on the citrus side than the previous components) and long, though not punishingly so on either count. Big bodied and a bit boozy.
My sister brought it up when she and her bf came up to go camping. I'd had it once before I think the first time Eagle Rock brewed it she had a growler that we finished between the two of us. It was a bit much. A full bomber to one person is still a decent amount, but not quite as onerous. Tasty brew, but certainly strong and probably won't be for everyone.

On tap at Eagle Rock Brewery in Los Angeles, CA.

Pours a clear copper with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, citrus fruit, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, caramel, and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness and an alcohol kick on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty but packs a noticeable alcohol punch.

Serving type: on tap.

Out of my growler from the brewery.

Pours a dark copper red with a thick viscous fluffy white head. Lots of sticky lacing.

Smells of grapefruit and malt and pine.

Bittersweet on the palate, with a nice finish. Some caramel notes as well, but not much in the way of rye.

Nice mouthfeel, more chewy than I was expecting, but good. It's a strong beer at 10% ABV, but I still thought it had good drinkability.

Consumed May 18th, 2010 at Tony'S Darts Away, Burbank, CA.

Beer is a deep, burnished copper hue with a fine one finger head. Plenty of sticky lacing.

Aroma is sugary (and not much else).

Very caramel on the tongue with piney, resiny and aspirin-like bitterness on the finish. Only hints of rye.

Smooth and interesting, the 10% ABV is not very present in the taste.

Struggled to finish the whole glass. The taste went downhill as the brew warmed.
