On tap at The York--this one is a take on an Imperial version of a CA Common and was brewed as the official beer for LA Beer Week. I've only run accross one other example of an Imperial Califrnia Common before...the other one was by Dale Bros.

A - Glowing amber honey color body with really nice tan two-finger head with beautiful sticky lace.

S - On the subtle side...toasty sweet bread and fairly rich malt presence. Some fruity overtones I decided were mostly reminiscent of pineapple.

T - Rich and malty with a very present fruity sweetness, though the pineapple aroma doesn't necessarily translate into the flavor (at least not too much). Some spice layered into that distinctly malty-bready character of the CA Common stlyle. Very interesting...unique. This one got better for me as I drank it.

M - Moderate leaning towards full feel with medium-low carbonation. Coating and sweet, but not overly.

D - Wow, this was nice. At once familiar and simultaneously unique. Alcohol content is clearly elevated, but not hot.
