Visited with my wife on a recent trip to San Diego and Los Angeles.

Tried the following:
Boomtown Mic Czech (draft)
Lost Abbey Citrus Sin (draft)
Avery White Rascal (draft)
Track 7 Hop Addict (sample)

Beers ranged from good to excellent. Tap selection was well above average. Charming and relaxed gastropub atmosphere. We liked that they kept the windows open. Service was fast and affable and the burgers and pretzels were unreal (I went for the classic Cheese Burger with aged cheddar, lettuce, tomato, red onion & ketchup). Our overall experience was fantastic, and we would happily come back.

We stopped at Stout Hollywood Burger and Beer for my birthday and we sat at the bar waiting to be seated. The restaurant was not overly busy or super crowded. The hostess Jade approached us at the bar and started telling us about seating us and the menu. One of my friends was talking to another person in our party and happened to be standing next to the waitress. She turned over to him and put her hand 3 inches away from his face and told him "Excuse, I'm talking!" In other words, telling him to shut up. She walked away and heard our conversation that I was upset about her treating us the way she did and she came up with an attitude and said "Are you staying or leaving? because if your leaving I have other people that can sit at the bar where your sitting!" I couldn't believe that again she talked to us like that. I turned to her and said "that was really rude. We came here to eat and that's how you welcome people into the restaurant. No one is drunk here and we're not your typical drunk customers so how you acted was really rude and we won't be eating here." She then with a sarcastic smile said "That's great, I'm sorry but it's been a hectic night" I told her well it doesn't give you the right to treat us that way. She gave me a sarcastic smile again and said "Well, I'm sorry but are you leaving, I have other people to seat?!" I was so fed up with her attitude. I just asked for her name and I took my group of 9 and we left. On our way out I saw her high five the Security.

There are a ton of places to eat in Hollywood. No one needs to deal with that kind of treatment!

The burgers are awesome, the beer menu rarely changes, but it's a good one. Don't come here expecting the staff to tell you anything you didn't already know. I commented on how malty and bitter without any hint of hop flavor (i.e. stone fruits, melons, citrus, w/e), and the bartender said "yeah dude, it's a west coast style IPA, super bitter." So yeah, homeboy was pretty clueless. Anyway, come for the burgers not for the service. Oh yeah, and it's all well overpriced, the beer that is, the burgers are worth the money.

My fourth time here, second eating food. Great selection, noticed some changes to the tap list in the four times, across about 6 months. The list is structured so that they have all the major styles you are looking for. Great burgers, no modifications to them but that doesn't bother me. Chefs know best. Beef, chicken, and veggie burgers, great fries and killer bread pudding. Bartender did the job, but I don't ask much. It's open everyday til 4am....well kitchen is, and is perfect for when I get tired of my bar's food.

Stout is open late, like 4am late, but stops serving beer at 2am. The food here is really great. The burgers are first rate and the sides are delish. The beer selection is very good and the taps are clean. Glassware is nice, nothing fancy and not sure if the 'pints' are really 16 oz but very good nonetheless.
I was very surprised how expensive everything was. The burgers come with no sides, just bun and burger on a plate. It looks kind of funny and ain't cheap but as stated, tastes great.
Beers are over priced compared to some of my normal places but if you are at Hotel Cafe or the a hollywood Farmers market, this place is a great stop.
Worth eating and drinking at for sure but a little too sceney for me and not a real beer bar atmosphere.

First time heading over to Stout yesterday (4/20/10) and I must say that the food was delicious!

American contemporary feel with wooden tables and counter tops, along with a couple (possibly a few?) large TV's over the bar area broadcasting whatever live game is currently on. Surprisingly, this place was barely half full on a Tuesday evening.

While the tap list isn't amazingly diverse, there is something for everyone. Except regrettably, there were no saisons on tap when I dined. The pint prices are a little steep, so I wouldn't come here for the drinks alone, however the food is definitely worth it.

I had the Stout burger with sweet potato fries, and let me just say it blew my mind. My waitress was very attentive and quick with bringing out my order, however once I decided one beer was enough the honeymoon was over.

Overall worth a stop. While the burger portions aren't very large, with a beer they are definitely filling.

I visited Stout while in LA for work. I went in on a Tuesday night by myself and saddled up to the bar. I was immediately impressed with the huge draft selection.

The first I tried the Hollywood Brewery Director's Cut. Never having heard of the Hollywood Brewery, I looked it up on my phone. I was surprised to see the bartender who just placed this deliciously hoppy IPA in front of me is also the brewer. The beer was a 10 out of 10 brew; best of the evening.

I sampled quite a few brews and was surprised to see a Victory draft I had never heard of all the way out in LA.

I tried the something weeker burger with the fig jam and it was also a 10 out of 10.

Melis and Sam were very informed bartenders! Thanks for the company!

I went here a few weeks ago. I was just waiting for this location to be added to BA. Anyways...

This place is all right. Like the other reviewer says, nothing here is going to blow you away. I'm sure the "Stout Burger" is good (didn't try it), but I doubt it's better than the "Office Burger" at Father's Office, a place where you'll probably get a better beer selection too. Had the onion rings, which, again, didn't compare with yet another much better place's onion rings, Blue Palms Brewhouse.

The beer selection is decent. I agree with what the other dude said. Nothing here is going to blow your mind. Generic selection of microbrews. Might go back someday, simply to try the burger, I guess, but not any time soon. There are other places I'd much rather go.

The decor is rather bland here as well, and I don't think the waitress I had had any idea how to answer questions relating to the brews they serve.

Went a week ago with the wife,

Beer selection is decent but a little generic, nothing that would shock anyone (especially if you are on here reading this). Atmosphere is very hollywood, if not a little stark, not as many tables as I thought there would be, they seem to still be figuring out "an arrangment that works.

Food was definetly the high point of this, my "stout" burger was pretty tasty, portioned right (not a giant burger just enough to get me full) and the greek fries were serviceable. The wife had the quinoa (spelling??) burger and was happy with it with some potato rounds that were better than my fries.

Overall when the bill came my initial thought was "damn we could have gone to blue palms, spent less money and had better beer". We will probably go back at some point but probably not right away.
