Served in a pokal at the brewpub.

Yeah, the meal's pretty much over, but one more beer couldn't hurt. This one pours a clear tawny amber topped by nearly a finger of dirty white micro-foam. The nose comprises mint, dark toffee, onion, and caramel. The taste holds notes of stark minty pine, onion, and a light caramel. The hops really have the caramel in a choke hold here. The body is a hefty light, with a light moderate carbonation and a dry-ish finish. Overall, a decent IPA, but the onion (Simcoe, perhaps?) and the dry-ness really doesn't help this brew out any.

On cask at NotLA. Poured into tasting glass.

A - Pours a golden/copper color, light cream-colored head.

S - Hops, light malts, off-putting medicinal harshness (not sure what this is from), slight skunk notes too, watery.

T - Blah. Just tastes "old"...light bitter hops and malts. Again, harsh skunked notes like this cask has been sitting around for a year or so.

M - Light body, light carbonation.

O - Not a good IPA at all. This is one I avoided after I had the first pour, and I wasn't the only one. No thank you.

Served in a pokal glass on tap

This beer pours a deep copper color with a tad bit of ecru foam. The smell mainly consists of toffee, butterscotch and some spearmint and a hint of pine just to make sure that there are actually some hops in this IPA. The taste is rather vague. There is nothing really strong in one way or the other. The hops are really mild on the palate in addition there is a hint of that Belgian yeast they put in every beer in this. The main flavor that I get was more of a biscuit/bread flavor. The mouthfeel was pretty decent, but there was a dryness that I couldn't quite put my finger on. It was still a decently drinkable beer, but it's definitely not one of my favorites that they provide.

A ~ a transparent hue of orange/copper...lighter in appearance

S ~ beer, w/ hints of hops.. not sure if that makes sense, but think about that smell of beer you may have whiffed from your dad's bottle/can years ago...that's the smell i get, with a hint of hops in there..

T ~ somewhat similar to the smell...not truly a hoppy ipa, but not a bad tasting one...

M ~ light, smooth, easy drinking beer...

O ~ something to drink....nothing to really search out for...but decent... I think there more of a restaurant that brews rather than a brewery that makes food... either way, i've had better, and i've had worse..
