This strikes me as an old school liquor store that has carved out a craft beer section. It doesn't seem to be a natural part of the place but it works. They have a nice stretch of craft beer with much of it refrigerated and a small bar with some decent offerings on tap. I went with an Almanac Strawberry Patch which was my first sampling of their sours. I thought it was very good. So much so that I bought one to take home for my wife to try. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. I was glad I stopped in.

This is hands down the best bottle shop in the tri-city area (Fremont/Newark/Union City). They feature 9 to 10 doors of local, out of state and imported craft beer. The store has expanded to include a small tasting area since the last review and has about 12 to 15 taps pouring rare one off's, local favorites and high end barrel aged monsters (Max of 3 pours allowed). You can also order food from the gourmet restaurant, Mossimo's, located next door and have it delivered right to the tasting area.
This spot is definitely worth checking out for the local craft beer enthusiast.

Liquor store across the street from BevMo, but with a much more interesting craft selection. They recently expanded their craft section, and it has worked out well. They get the standard California stuff, Bear Republic, Firestone Walker, Lagunitas, etc, as well as some Alesmith, Mikkeller, and other foreign beers (nothing incredible, though). They offer weekly tastings, but I've never been able to attend. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, at least during weekdays. I had an excellent chat with the owner's son, who knows at least as much about craft beer as I do.
All in all, a hidden gem in the East Bay.

This is my go-to place for craft beers, as I live down the street from it. Sam, the owner, is a beer nerd and will chat you up about the selection, what to add, what you like, etc. Great selection considering it's in Fremont and the bombers are cold. He recently added another two giant refrigerator-door sections worth and is in the process of adding more. Brought him a bottle of my homebrew and he hooked me up with a bomber as a trade. Lots of Sierra Nevada/Firestone special brews, Drakes, Flying Dog, Stone, etc. and occasionally some more rare stuff. Typical liquor store atmosphere but friendly staff, great beers at decent prices (cold, I might add). Great contrast if you don't feel like braving BevMo/want to support a local business.

Bigger than the typical liquor store and with the addition of a large downstairs wine cellar. Several Belgian beers were sitting in the cellar that was dominated by wine. The rest of the beer sits in coolers at store level. About 2 doors worth were filled with the craft varietiy, one of them filled with 22's and the like. I looked for something unique to buy (of course) and finally spotted a bottle of Firestone 14. I also spotted two varieties of the Mikkeller Yeast Series (where's that in Orange County?) and a Lindemans gift pack. When I went to purchase, the clerk told me that the Firestone 14 is a good one. I would have liked to see some pricetags, but to be honest, I was going to purchase the 14 unless it was running around $30. A good find in Fremont for your beery needs.

Stopped into C&B to see their craft beer selection. First thing you notice when walking in is a basement where it looks like they have a great selection of wine.. but alas, I'm not here to talk about the wine. They had 3 or 4 coolers of craft beers, but I didn't find anything outstanding - they had the standards from Port/Lost Abbey, Stone, Rogue, Chimay, etc. I did find a 6 pack of Drake 1500 and Monk's Cafe Flemish Red, which I don't see often. Prices roughly the same as the BevMo across the street.

I stopped in here after driving by so many times. WOW. What a great selection of beer from around the world and around the US. The selection is second to none and prices are very fair, especially since they compete with BevMo right across the street.
This is a family owned place with friendly service. They do beer and wine tasting events. Their selection is mostly refrigerated though they also have a downstairs cellar that is not refrigerated, but stays pretty cool. Lots of special releases, Belgians, DFH, and craft beers from around the country. If you are in Fremont and looking for great craft beer, I highly recommend stopping into Cork-N-Bottle Liquors.
