750ml bottle served in a snifter glass.

Bottled in January, 2009. Enjoyed in a hotel in Luxebourg during a business trip.

A: Pours a haze pink to red color forming absolutely no head and no lacings... Flat

S: Great fruity nose. Strong notes of raspberry, vinegar and oak. Sour but not extremely. Traditional Lambic yeasts in the end

T: Slightly sweet fruity upfront followed by a tart raspberry taste. Notes of oak in the mouth too. Vinegar. Lambic yeasts

M: Mediun body. Very low carbonation. Fruityand sour aftertaste

D: Great drinkability. A smooth and well done fruity beer. My first De Cam. Oude Lambiek and Oude Kriek in the upcoming days...

2009 375ml

pours deep red, with purple and ruby undertones. some fizzy head that is gone quickly, but showing some carbonation for this being a lambiek.

old dank raspberries and even older oak. funky.

raspberry is obviously dominant but this is so dank and funky. raspberries taste old but juicy. the oak just blends so well with this.

great body, has a a slight chew to it as if you are eating raspberries

one of the best framboise ever, easily.

Okay, first of all thank you to Jeffo for hookin' a brother up. Have been really excited to try this.

Second, I've heard of "gushers" before, but this was something else. Untwisted the cage and literally just touched the cork. POP!! Okay, I've seen this before, no big deal. What I wasn't expecting was the three foot plume of pink foam that immediately followed the cork. My reaction was to grab the bottle to carry it to the sink on the other side of the kitchen. Unfortunately, another reaction was to cover the top of the gushing bottle with my hand ...this only made things worse like putting your thumb over the end of a hose. Kitchen was completely showered with pink beer, ceiling and all. Fuck.

Well, it's all cleaned up now and I still have a glass of beer left in the bottle, so here goes.

Appearance. Pours a dark pinkish red with a thin pale pink head that fades fast.

Smell. Earthy funk and dank barrel wood, Tart raspberries and lemon juice.

Taste. Tart raspberries, slightly medicinal mineral flavours, and dank old barrel with a bunch of musty funk. Medium level of sourness, like under ripe berries.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body, medium-low soft carbonation.

Overall. A good beer, but the medicinal qualities and re-modeling of my kitchen turned me off a bit. Really cool to try though and looking forward to trying the others.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Bottledatum 9/2012. Slow gusher.

Appearance - Hazy pink body. Chunky bits floating about. Looks like pieces of raspberry. Some surface wisps remain.

Smell - Raspberry aroma is strong. Funky and lemony. The slightest hint of acetic acid.

Taste - Lambic flavor is stronger than the raspberry up front. Wheaty grain up front. Sharp lactic acid. Lots of raspberry in the middle. Finish is extremely sour and the acetic acid comes back.

Mouthfeel - Medium carbonation. Very sour. Medium body.

Overall - I liked it at first, but it wasn't as pleasant as I drank it. Too sour and simple in its profile.
