Poured into a Saint Somewhere wine-style glass. Bottle Date: 2/2012.

A- Pours a solid bronze color with nearly no bubbles at all. Flat?

S- Somewhat sweet, oaky and tart. Has that delightful gueuze funk.

T- Has the tartness and funk one expects from a gueuze. Moderate vinegary taste, very dry. Mild acidity brings notes of lemon. After a while, it breaks into full-on sour. At first it wasn't doing it for me but, the more I drink it, the more it quenches my thirst for that sour apple pucker combined with that oaky tannic quality.

M- As said before, it's dry, it's flat and pretty much lifeless but the flavor makes up for that in the long run. Light body.

O- While I would certainly take a Tilquin over this any day, it's quite good for what it is. Not really worth the price asked IMO, but I'm glad I got to try it all the same.

Glowing yellow-amber color, with no head at all.

Brett defined nose, sulphur and soap, with green apple skin, vinegar hints, overall pointing into a fruity direction.

Has a low carbonation, which leads to a fruity beginning in which mandarin, oak and lemon peel stand out, accompanied with slightly lactic notes. Acidity get more intense, the longer it stays on the palate, leading to a very sour overall impression. Still, it is very enjoyable due to barley malt and dough yeast, keeping the beer in balance. Lemony fruitiness stays on the palate with a dry sourness, leading to an even dryer finish. Easy drinkable and complex at the same time.
