On tap at the brewpub, 4oz sample.

App - black with a dense tan head.
Aroma - roasty coffee-chocolate, malty with prune fruit.
Flavor - milk chocolate, malty-sweet, with barely balancing low bitterness. Oatmeal smoothness is evident.
Mouthfeel - medium body and smooth, with low carbonation.
Overall - very pleasant sweetish stout.

On nitro-tap at the brewpub.

Pours with a huge head that quickly recedes to a proper size top coat. The color is virtually black with dark ruby highlights. The head sticks around and keeps the glass thoroughly coated until the pint is slowly drained.

Smells of roasted malts with a hint of chocolate. Mildly sweet.

Taste: Roasted malt, oatmeal and choclate flavors up front followed by darker malts and more chocolate flavor. Mildly bitter ending. A bit light flavored but otherwise very nice.

Mouthfeel: great, thanks in part to the nitro. Light and semi dry; creamy smmoth.

Overall: a very fine Oatmeal Stout with a great look and feel. Worth seeking out on nitro.tap.

On-tap at the brewery.

Pours a color that's one shade away from black with dark ruby highlights and a one-finger tan head. The head sticks around for quite a while before settling into a patchy layer on top and leaving decent lacing.

Smells of roasted malts with a good amount of milk chocolate. There's not a lot going on here, but so far everything's done correctly.

Tastes similar to how it smells. Roasted malt flavors up front followed by milk chocolate flavors that hit right before a mildly bitter ending.

Mouthfeel is good. It has a great thickness, but the carbonation was a bit too far over to the soft side.

Drinkability is good. I could certainly order more than one of these, though it'd be a lot easier if it wasn't 75 degrees outside.

Overall this was a very tasty Oatmeal Stout. Nothing stood out as spectacular, but nothing stood out as spectacularly bad either. Worth a shot.

Poured with a beautiful cascade, which settled into a deep brown/black with a finger and a half fluffy tan head that stuck around. Scents of roast malt and some burnt grain. Not amazing, but it was stout-like and made me excited to taste it. Flavor is roast malt, black coffee, and some burnt flavors. Standard session stout flavor, not picking up a whole lot of oatmeal. Mouthfeel is excellent, smooth and creamy nitro stout texture with a medium body. A very good sessionable stout, one of my favorite Four Peaks offerings. It suffers slightly from not being quite as heavy on the oatmeal part, but it's a good stout.

Black Guinness like color with mahogany reddish highlights. The head is very reminiscent of a Guinness with its fine creaminess and retention. I didn't see the pour but it looks like its from a nitro tap despite the obvious over-pour and spillage by the bartender. There was only half an inch of khaki brown head on the top of the beer but the side of the glass wore at least another quarter inch.

Smell is of dark roasted chocolates, coffee and deep rich malts. Smooth smells that work well together are quite pleasing to jam you nose in. It was so good I accidently dipped my nose at least twice.

Beautiful creamy texture to this brew. A smooth almost milky (coating) mouthfeel with coffee , chocolate and rich warm malts. Dark roasted almost bitter flavors plays well with the creaminess. The aftertaste reinforces those flavors and lets them linger on the palate. Quite nice.

Little to no carbonation brings out the flavors of this beer and adds to the milky mouthfeel. It compels you to drink and allows you to slug it down fast. One of the better oatmeal stouts out there.

Enjoyed on tap at Scottsdale location, brewed of course at the Tempe brewpub. Dark brown with off-white head. A decent stout with an easy mouthfeel, and thickish. Roast grains' aroma. Noticeable thickness. Mollasses, chocolate malts, bit of coffee substitute. Roast aromas.

Decided to finish off my meal in Tempe at Mac's Boiler & Tap with a dark beer. Mac's changes their tap selection often, though Four Peaks is just down the road. MAC's has wonderful specials.

A: Dark brown with a slight head which remains to the bottom.
S: I cannot detect an aroma... maybe a hint of chocolate
T: Slight chocolate, coffee, smoke taste.
M: Extremely refreshing
D: Not the best oatmeal stout I've had, though it's not bad.

This is at the Tempe location. I was passing through while travelling.

A: A very dark brown, good creamy head.

S: I honestly didn't detect much of a smell. If anything, it was just a hint of chocolate.

T: A good healthy mix of coffee and chocolate. I was pleasantly surprised how good this was after I could barely smell anything.

M: A very smooth beer that went down easy. Very easy to drink.

D: I was pleased with this beer. I would recommend it to others who typically gravitate toward stouts and porters.
