Ahh, Four Peaks. A neighborhood staple, this place has been my favorite dinner spot since I started classes at ASU and continues to hold that title.
The layout's a bit cluttered and it can get a bit crowded in there at times, but the servers are cute and friendly and the college crowd is social.
The brewers have a very definite philosophy on beer, and it doesn't involve beers "you have to dare your friends to drink." This means Four Peaks usually strays from brewing up the big, genre-bending brews that have become so popular recently. Take that how you want to, but I think it's a shame; as a fan of bigger, more flavorful beers, I enjoy Hop Knot, Double Knot, Hopsquatch and Pumpkin Porter, but everything else is a bit too pedestrian for me.
The food, however, is outrageously good. My staple is the beer bread chicken, though I've never had a meal at Four Peaks I was disappointed with. Along with the regular menu populated with burgers, burritos and pizza (all of which are very reasonably priced), the place features a rotating menu of lunch and dinner specials which can be pretty gourmet, ranging from chicken tamale pie to grilled swordfish.
Whenever a BA visiting Phoenix asks what spots they need to hit, this is my first recommendation. Good beer, excellent food, an overall great beer experience every time I visit.

My first stop of the day, just off the edge of ASU's campus which apparently makes it quite popular. Atmosphere was hopping, Lots of people sitting outside soaking up the nice weather, lots more sitting at the huge bar located right inside the door. The space is so much bigger than I was expecting, it looks like it just keeps going and going. Service was solid. I never had to wait for anything and he spent some time talking to me about PA since he noticed my shirt. Quality was pretty good. Selection was pretty good. I got the 8 beer sampler, which they comped since it was my first visit so thanks for that! They also had two beers on cask that I would have liked to try but I was on a schedule. Wanted something light to eat with my beers so I got the beer cheese bread. Wasn't expecting some cheesy pizza bread thing but it was really good so whatever. Like most of the other places on this trip, the prices were even with all of the other places I have been. Overall a nice brewpub that I would definitely return to if I was in the area.
