L- Bottle well rested and chilled. Poured slowly, sediment lifts very easily into the pour towards the end; beware if you mind it. Deep chestnut, slightly hazy, pours with 1Cm pale tan pillowy head. Much excess sediment left in the bottle. [Ps 15mins later, head holds reeeally well! ]
S- Aromatic timber, spice, dark fruits. Not *that* pronounced but very pleasant, smells classy too. I wonder if it's barrel aged...?
T- Toasty, deep roasty fruit notes, fleeting touches of sweet richness. There is a spicy edge too, subtle/into the mix same as you find in British mince pies or Xmas pudding.
F- Pretty rich, clearly a higher end ABV% beer, though the ABV% is subtle enough to remain in balance with the taste and feel.
O- The timber notes are somewhat prominent here, it makes it a little different and rather special I think. It also adds to the pungency; this to me is a classic winter-warmer slow-sipping beer. You'd have to be young or insane to wish to session this brew ;; I'd happily drink it again, though there is something, that final little thing absent for me... just a touch too sweet? Or is it just a bit too 'aromatic timber'? ...

Pours a murky dark-brown color with a medium top of beige head that dissolves slowly.
Aroma is of dark malts, caramel, toffee, bread, plums, raisins, nuts and different spices.
The taste is sweet and malty at the start with nice notes of caramel, bread and dark and dried fruits. It the gets more hints of spices in the flavours before it finishes of with some small bitterness that is ballanced nicely with the malty background. Long and strong aftertaste. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel with a medium carbonation and a full body.
Really good and enjoyable.

Emptied into a Westmalle Chalice.
Pours a deep ruby, with coffee coloured foam top. The head stays to the last, just how it should be.
Aroma is coffee and spice, a bit smoked also.
Taste is great, a tinge of that coffee and smoked aroma comes through, but the brew actually has a lot more going on...malt, figs, dark chocolate and a hefty kick of alcohol.
Feel is good, a nice warmer, not watery at all, a real beer of substance.
Overall, a mighty fine beverage, up there with some of the best Belgian Bruin beers IMO.

Draft at PreFunk. Mahogany pour with small, spotty beige head. Pit fruit. Plums, brown sugar and yeast. Medium weight. Tasted good as I haven’t had a dubbel in a while.
