Wow, for a scotch ale this beer is very dark, almost 'stout' dark.
Fingers worth of foamy khaki head that dissipates fairly quickly.
Aroma was all smoke, lots and lots of smoke. The aroma gave the impression that a whole lot, bordering excess, peat smoke malt was used in the brewing process.
Taste similar to the aroma is again all smoke, with hints of bittersweet notes that try to surface amongst all the smoke.
Mouthfeel was smooth, however the excess smoke was a bit too overwhelming for my palate.
Overall, it was a decent scotch ale.

Served at the Brew Pub in a Sam Adams bulbous pint glass.
Appearance: Pours a surprisingly opaque dark black. The glass was filled to the top, but the head that's present is a mocha-colored dark brown.
Smell: What comes through most here is a sense of sweet milk chocolate. Definitely malty and on the sweeter side, with maybe a bit of mild charred malt presence also.
Taste: Like the Belgian Blonde Ale that I had from Bandwagon, the flavor dies extremely quickly. Not that there's much depth to begin with, though the milk chocolate flavors and sweetness are nice. But there's little hop presence, and the flavors are thin, leaving not even a semblance of anything lingering.
Mouthfeel: You really have to work to get a sense of carbonation, as the mouthfeel is way too watery, which also doesn't work well with the seemingly medium-bodied brew.
Drinkability: Again, with the Belgian Blonde, this tastes like it was made from an all-extract kit. I probably should've asked about their beers, but I didn't end up doing that. It's certainly drinkable, but for the price, $4 a pint, I'd opt to pay a few more dollars for a pint of, say, Great Lakes Blackout Stout, which they did indeed have. I'm glad I tried this, but there are others on tap not from the Brew Pub that may be better to try.

BWB's Scotch ale has a dark brown body that borders on black with a small crown of tan head.
The aroma features mostly dark malts, with a good roasted smell and a lot of chocolate.
BWB's Scotch ale is definitely on the malty side of Scotch ales, which is how I like them. Big roasted and chocolate flavors with a little bit of toffee underlying them. Just a hint of hops in the background. Rich and malty overall.
This scotch has a nice full body for the style and adequate carbonation.
This is a solid beer that I would try again.
