After a little over a year in existence, Bandwagon is approaching its 700th batch of beer brewed. To commemorate this, this bigger version of the Raspberry Jalapeno was brewed for the 666th batch. With three times more jalapenos and an increased amount of raspberries, this one should be interesting.

The body is cloudy and brown, but it has shades of red and purple also. The tan head sticks around for a little while and leave some spotty lacing behind.

The aroma is great. Huge doses of both jalapenos and raspberries greet me immediately. The fruity, slightly sweet, slightly tart raspberry mixes with the spicy jalapeno nicely.

A juicy raspberry flavors comes through first, just like the aroma it is a blend of sweet, fruity and tart. That flavor matches perfectly with the jalapeno that comes next. The jalapeno flavor only has a little bit of heat to start off, as the raspberry manages to subdue it. What is left is a moment in the middle of the beer where you get all of the flavor of jalapenos and none of the heat. That moment gives way quickly to a good amount of heat in the finish. Luckily, the next sip starts all over again and the raspberries will subdue any residual heat.

The most noticeable characteristic from the mouthfeel is the slight burning from the heat of the jalapenos.

This beer has huge amounts of fruit and heat, but the two flavors come together and prevent the other from being overwhelming. Even though the heat is pretty assertive, it isn't eye watering, and isn't unpleasant once you start drinking. This is a bigger, better version of the normal Raspberry Jalapeno. It is also the best beer I have tried at Bandwagon and the best Chile beer that I have ever had.
