Had on tap at Max's the other night.
The beer pours almost a cream soda amber orange color with very good head retention and fair lacing. The beer is pretty malty and sweet on the nose, but with some underlying rootbeer and tangerine. The beer smells pretty good. On the palate this beer is very pleasant. My initial reaction is that it's pretty simple and one dimensional, but as it sits in my glass I get banana, coconut, butterscotch and ranier cherry. Not so simple after all; it's just not made in a blockbuster style. The beer is very light on its feet and is not the least bit tiring or heavy. The mouthfeel is pretty smooth and it finishes very well. This beer is very easy to drink, with an abv. that is almost unnoticeable.
Very solid beer from De Koninck.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Brown colour, moderate off-white head. Typical sweetish aroma of Belgian brown ale, notes of brown kandij sugar. Fairly sweet flavour, brown kandij sugar, mild spicy notes.

Not much of a Belgian ale drinker, however this wasn't half bad. Good enough to justify me taking another sip, but simply just not my style of beer.
