Amber blonde color, with a white foam, a bit too quick to fall down. Clean.
In the smell a lot of fruitiness, strong, ripe, tropical. Pineapple and melon. Too sweet.
Same for the taste, sweet, malty, honey.
Definitely too sweet. Again a lot of fruitiness.
Useless body, sweet and infinite aftertaste (not a good thing).

Been acquired by Duvel, so am tasting it vs Duvel. Which is more champagne like, lighter in color, and more long, long finish (And one of my favorite beers) but this one wins on appearance as being the "BEST LOOKING BEER I HAVE EVERY POURED" and it's close and in range on other measures.

A - When poured vs a Duvel, the head lasted the ENTIRE SESSION, and it was the densest, tightest, most meringue like head that stained the glass with lace all the way. A beautiful apricot body, but the white head is your dream of beer.

S - The smell is more laid back that Duvel, more metallic, hay, incense that the (Lemon, champagne, with spices, pepper, fruit, apple, and sweet malt) that you get in Duvel.

T - RISING on the tongue, with sweet malts, with bitterness, spices, orange, pepper & champagne.
More tame that Duvel, but clearly a cousin.

M - While Duvel gets a 5 for Feel, this one is still above most. It's subtle, pinpoint carbonation. Dry and crisp like champagne. Slightly creamy and a little chalky in a good way.

D - Must try. From Duvel. Ancient formula.

Think I might be the first person in the US to review this one. Snagged it from Wegmans after trolling their website and finding that they have exclusive rights in the US to sell this beer. Bought a 4 pack of 11.2oz bottles for $11.99. Poured this beer into a tall glass. Golden color with wheat specs and bubbles throughout the brew. Opaque. Descent amount of carbonation which is a characteristic of most Belgians. Sweet floral bouquet with those flavors coming through on the palate with the first sip. Slight amount of bitterness but not that much. Very carbonated when sipping. Great triple ranks high up there.

From a 330 ml bottle to a snifter.

A: pours a hazy gold with a small one finger head that stays longer than I would have expected. It takes a while, but eventually. It does break and you are left with a thin layer of foam.

S: spices such as cloves, anise and cinnamon. There are notes of yeast and some malts as well.

T: the spices come through on the front along with some banana and then malts finish.

M: medium carbonation and body. The alcohol comes through a little strong though.

O: this could be a better beer if the alcohol didn't come through so strong. It just sort of was, nothing spectacular and nothing too disappointing.

Huge head, nice and golden going to light amber. Lots of chunks floating about. Smells like fruitcake, a bit floral also. Mostly it gives the impression of something really sweet.
And it is. Huge malty sweetness, big caramel and honey, toffee and Belgian sugars. Faint licorice too. Nice and fruity, with citrus (sweet oranges, tangerines), acidic (red apple, yellow pear) and banana. Spicy yeasts, giving off big clove and some prickly pepper. The acidity is helped by a more than milder fizz, maybe a bit unpleasant considering it's also a little bit boozy. The bitterness is top notch, though, nice herbal hops leaving a bittersweet aftertaste, that lingers for a while.
A really tasty tripel, quite unbalanced, but it has a certain appeal, hitting perfectly some of the notes.

330 ml. bottle, pours a copper-golden colour, with a small head and almost no retention. Smell of fried potatoes... no wait, that's my neighbour cooking. OK, now the window is closed, smell of caramel, citrus, spices, fennel and some notes of oak barrel. Very soft palate, maybe a bit watery. Taste is more or less the same as aroma, with the feeling that you're drinking a liquor rather than a beer. Maybe not completely balanced, but it's a very good beer.
