Zona Sul is a chain of grocery stores in Rio. This one listed on BeerFly is one of the larger ones I saw, and also boosts a good selection of beer. Beer is located on a shelf towards the left-hand side of the store as you walk in from the street.
A good mix of domestics and imports, some are even packaged with glassware. Among the Brazilian brands are Eisenbahn, Baden Baden, Backer, Wäls, Schmitt, Colorado, Therezópolis...I know I'm forgetting a few. The import selection is good as well, featuring Chimay, Delirium, Hofbrau, Paulaner, Meantime, Hoegaarden, Duvel, Tripel Karmeliet, Old Speckled Hen, Hacker Pschorr. Some of the beers are discouted at a lower price (Baden Baden was R$9, but usually R$11), but are not yet beyond their sell-by date.
Many checkout stands without any lines, that's nice. It's better than most grocery store checkouts.
There's also another Zona Sul on the same street as this within walking distance. It's much smaller on the outside, though I didn't go inside. Look for the big Zona Sul, then start your beer shopping.
