Pours dark copper/red, fluffy tan head, very sticky going down to some lacing and a small foamy floating cap.
Smells surprisingly good: raisin, lots of brown sugar, faint cocoa, low dark malts, tea.
Starts rather sweet, lots of caramel, some molasses and dark malts, not extremely roasted. There's also some orange zest that brings a bit of zing, some faint sourness also, cooked red apple, raisin, faint cocoa powder, all leading to a finish that has some off herbal bitter notes (+ a bit of metal), besides some decent dark bread, burnt brown sugar and a bit of unwanted malty sweetness.
Medium body, almost smooth, medium carbonation, a bit crisp too. Tho something's fishy in the finish, the aftertaste retains just some cocoa notes, roasted malts and some cheap-brandy alcohol.
A bit different from the average dark lager, wouldn't mind having one more of these 0.6 liter babies. Doesn't exaggerate with the sweetness, some nice flavours too.
