Joe’s multinational take on a classic IPA. IPA’s are known for their intense hop bitterness, flavor and aromas. First, Joe used American and English malt, then American and English hops are added during the mash, first wort, boil, and finally it’s dry hopped for aroma. Belgium gets involved with the yeast and a special candy sugar finish for smoothness and flavor.

Murky orange color.
Huge white head (be careful pouring!); minimal lacing.
Nose of bitterness; slight citrus.
Medium mouthfeel.
Muted hop flavor; slight sweetness. Dry, and very much in the English tradition; I personally wish the sweetness was more pronounced.

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of alcohol, pine, strong hops, sweet malt, rye, and a hint of yeast. Fits the of a Belgian IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of alcohol, pine, strong hops, sweet malt, rye, and a hint of yeast. Overall, weak appearance, good aroma, body, and blend.

L (4) - A nice (slightly) dark amber. Not dark amber, more of a dark yellow. Decent head on top, a slightly off-white.
S (4.25) - Nice smells and aromas here. A little hop and a little malt.
T (4) - Good solid hop taste with malt backbone. Not crazy hop levels but a nicely balanced IPA. I don't really get much of the Belgian yeast. I wouldn't have know they claimed that if I hadn't read it.
F (4) - Nice drinkable beer. Good carb, fairly smooth.
O (4) - Overall a solid beer. I've never *loved* any of the Peace Tree beers, but they're all good. This is no different.
