I visited the shop on a recent trip to Belgium.
If you are in the Watou area you really should check this shop out. There is a great selection of Belgium beers for a very reasonable price. The nice thing is that you don't have to buy the entire pack. The store allows you to break up the packs into individual sale so you can really get a wide range of beers for a reasonable price. The store also carries a nice glassware selection. I picked up a few glasses at about half the price I would have paid if I were in Brugge.
The owners do leave you to your own devices. So if you are overwhelmed by the amount of selection and just don’t know what to get, I suggest you take a breath and relax and realize that the worst selection you can make will result in a great Belgium beer.

This is a great little shop outside of Abele. We visited after staying in Watou the evening before, and our GPS lead us astray, so keep an eye out for it. If you can find the signs for Pralines (chocolates), pull into their parking lot, and head along the small road to the right. The beer shop is at the end of the road.
Despite walking into the warehouse first (cases and cases of beautiful beer!), we had no trouble navigating the tight shelves of 300+ different Belgian brews, all for 1-2 Euro for a 330mL bottle. In addition to grabbing 20 bottles of all new beer, I also grabbed 8 glasses.
Love this place, and will visit again if I'm in the same area again!

This shop is set amongst a rambling set of farm buildings just to the north of Abele village. South from Poperinge, this place is on your right, 400 metres from the main road and before the village signs. From Watou and the St Bernadus brewery, head into Abele and turn left onto the main road, you'll see the flags and buildings quiet clearly on your left once you leave the village.
Well known to Brits for years (because of its inclusion in Tim Webbs books) this uneven floored farmshop stocks over 300 beers, some commissioned and only sold here, there is also a host of glassware too. It is very close to the French border, so chocolates and cheeses are also sold, along with fruit, veg and other foodstuffs.
You are left alone to push your trolley round, or at least we were. Took our time and filled the said trolley with some goodies. Very little English spoken (or needed), they understood credit card easily enough though!
If you are in this part of Belgium it is well worth finding, I'll be using it again that is for sure.
