On tap at The Factory Gastrobar in Long Beach, CA.

I have had this beer more than a dozen different times in the year that Strand Brewing has been with us, and its current form is excellent.

A-A very rich copper color with a 1" amber hued froth. I really like the look of this brew.

S-I get a hint of caramel right away before its overtaken by floral hops.

T-On one hand I want to brag on the big hop flavors that build as you work your way through a pint, but I would really prefer a pale ale to maintain some malt character throughout.

M-To me its a little thin to carry around this level of hops.

D-As previously mentioned this builds on the pallet, even more than some IPA and DIPAs, but in a pinch its sessionable.

Appearance: orange in color with a 2" head that fell quickly. Spots of lace developed during the session.

Smell: orange and some grassy hop tones come through to the nose.

Taste: caramel, orange, some light earthy and grassy tones come through late. Bitterness is moderate.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Lighlt crispness from start to finish.

Overall: a straight forward IPA that is easy to consume and is nicely refreshing.

On-tap at Boneyard Bistro, Sherman Oaks, CA

A: The beer is slightly hazy light amber in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with an eighth of a finger high off white head that died down and left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of citrusy hops are present in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste is dominated by light to moderately strong flavors of citrusy hops with oranges standing out in particular. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little crisp on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a nice amount of hop aromas and flavors for an American Pale Ale and is rather easy to drink.
