Hazy reddish-copper in color with an off-white head that is fluffy and full. Retention is medium.

Citrus, pine needles, resin. Sweet melon, mandarin orange zest and light baking spice.

Mildly fruity with resin, fresh pine needles and citrus notes. Bright, high-toned hops are on full display.

Medium bodied mouthfeel that is carried through the palate by an intense hop bitterness. Everything finishes clean and dry with a moderate length to the beer.

I know its a West Coast APA, but the hops are just a little too much. Would like to see them toned down just a touch against the rest of the beer, allowing it to be a larger part of the story.

Handsome dark amber in the small nonic. Outstanding creamy cap of foam, but not overly carbonated. a little of the resiny aroma.

Summit, Cascade, and Amarillo hops are listed by the brewer. It all seems way too bitter for the very modest maltiness, especially for a Pale Ale. Still, it's a clean, resiny burn of hops for the IPA fan.

Burnt toast taste with herbal, grassy, and bitter tea flavors. Rather dry. I think of iced tea taste, seriously steeped. The head lasts to the final sip, and it's still there like the last froth of a root beer float. Needs a spoon. From the 750 ml Belgian-style bottle purchased at Bottleworks in San Diego.

Great orange hue, lacing is nice. A little hazy.

Taste is very balanced between fruity hops and malt. Malt flavor is clean, not caramelly or toasty. Minerally finish. Fruit loops, fruity cereal character. Medium bitterness.

Body is med-light. A little astringent in finish.

A somewhat hoppy american pale ale with a good malt backbone to balance. I would drink it again.

Grabbed this at City Beer Store for 4.99. Pouring into a Sierra Nevada IPA glass. Slightly hazy burnt orange with a dimpled off-white foam that's retaining well and leaving lacing on the glass as it slowly slides downward. Aromas of orange rind, lavender/floral, caramel candy, and medium toasted bread. Grassy, somewhat harsh bitterness comes on quickly and lingers into a nutty/walnut finish. Garlic flavor seems out of place for an APA and the citrus/floral hops I picked up in the nose aren't coming through as prevalently here. Medium body/moderate carbonation.

a: bright burnt caramel, copper, slightly hazy. 2 finger white head

s: clean crisp mix of sweet malt and pineapple/mango. candied sugar and fresh dough

t: follows the nose. bready malt up front. clean/grassy hops follow with some mild bitterness. backend has some of those sweet tropical fruits - passionfruit and pineapple. final flavor is a faint tea leaf. the sweet and bitter is harmonized nicely.

m: medium. can't feel much carbonation

o: wasn't sure what to expect from this, but pretty happy. i'm a huge fan of the balanced APAs, and this one works well. not too bitter, not too sweet. the tropical fruits could shine a little more, but this is a nice clean drinking beer.
