On tap at the ColLAboration beer fest at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles, CA.

Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace form on the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt/grain, honey, herbs, and a slight metallic aroma. Taste is of malt/grain, honey, vanilla, and an interesting herbal flavor. There is a mild bitterness that quickly fades after each sip. This beer has a light carbonation with a medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good braggot with some interesting flavors.

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ, on to the beer:

Amber orange colored with a few glops of lacing that sticks around the glass. The smell is very "fresh" with pine needles and oranges. And its taste is only better; along with the crispness of the pine needles that are evident, flavors of pineapple, esters, and toasted sugar. It's so tasty, I have to drink the whole glass. The alcohol is hidden well and it's got a medium body with some stickiness to it. It's an unusual style to see, but I really liked this. Happy 2nd Anniversary Strand!

On-tap at Beachwood I,

A: Pours a dark orange with a small white head, solid retention and lace.

S: Sweet caramel with some earthy hops and a hint of honey.

T: Quite a sweet malt flavour with a lot of orange, somewhat cloying. Light honey flavour and light hops, not a lot of mead character.

M: Medium-bodied, fairly smooth, but cloying at times.

O: I'm always excited to see braggot as I love mead and this is a style that's hardly ever made. I wish there was more integration of the actual honey flavour than there is. Not a bad beer, but not really what I expected.
