A ruby beer with a burst of hop flavors and aromas are paired with a solid malt backbone and a clean and pleasant bitterness that lingers on the palate. Aromas of pine and citrus are prevalent due to heavy dry-hopping with a blend of West Coast hops.

a real malty ipa, but also intensely hoppy, kind of the best of both worlds here, on the edge of being a red ipa, although its more deep crystal malt color than amber to me, more in the gold and bronze family than red, nice head from the bottle holds on well. aroma shows a little oxidation, i wish i got to this one a little sooner, it seems to have fallen off just a bit. big baked sweet almost comforting grain complexion in the nose and taste, but also piney and very intense bitter hops, northwestern to me all the way, and even kind of old school in terms of varietals. the hops are there all the way through too, not just in the finish, balancing the malt the whole way, its a lot of both, and its pretty strong as they go, so its kind of filling and slow going, at least for me, more of a sipper than a pounder. some sweetness remains at the end, and the body is really heavy without a more lively carbonation. i feel like i might not be getting the best foot forward on this one, and ill have to seek it out again fresher next time, but i like the boldness here, the heavy balance, and the sort of timeless nature of the flavor profile.

Had on tap. Has biscuit base with amber malt, honey, and hops accenting. Nothing too exciting, tastes like a beer that was innovative 20 years ago, but now has been passed by. Little watery. Still a solid offering worth tasting.

Had on tap at two location in Dubuque Iowa the week of Dec 19 2016. Unfortunately it receives a very low score because it was a dactyl bomb at both locations. Never an excuse to have one of those on tap anywhere.

I was in a hurry to get to the golf course and picked up 4 of the 16 ouncer's to take along. I consumed right out of the can but damn this is a great IPA! It seemed perfectly balanced to me and the 16 ounce cans make it very enjoyable because it is not gone after four quick swallows. I noticed the slight brown sugar flavor as well as the tropical sweetness that I am pretty sure was accomplished with the yeast. This beer is very drinkable at 7.5% ABV and if you get a chance to try it, it will not be your last time drinking it!
