On-tap at LAB in a snifter. Pitch very-dark-brown, two finger tan head. Creamy with thick sheeting all the way down. Smell: chocolate icing and chocolate liquor, mild roasted grain. Sweet. Taste: tons of milk chocolate, very tame roast, mild earthy hopping. Creamy light bodied -- may have been on nitro, though nitro was listed as an option that I purposely didn't ask for. Quaffable for a chocolate stout at 7% and 50 ibus. Went fantastically with their chocolate stout cake.

Served at the brewpub from nitro-tap into a sampler shaker. Poured a deep dark brown with tons of carbonation that creeps up to the top slowly (think Guinness) with a one finger tan head that subsided to a half finger slowly. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, dark chocolate, and cream. The flavor was of sweet malt, slightly roasted malt, chocolate, slight caramel, and cream. It had a medium feel on the palate with low carbonation. Overall this was a decent chocolate stout. Nice mouthfeel going on here. Had a decent aroma and good flavor as well. The flavor was very well balanced and definitely lived up to the chocolate aspect of its name. This is a must try for any chocolate stout fan out there.

Really enjoyed this brew. While not a strong aroma, the flavor is off the charts with chocolate. (My g/f described the flavor as Yoo-Hoo) Great session stout, that we enjoyed several of. Nice head retention that really gave it a perfect appearance. Gotta check out the LAB.

This beer was poured into a pint glass from the tap. It had a tan head that was about one finger and a dark brown color. I might get a piture next time to let me see the pour better. The smell was of malt, carmel and, light chocolate. The taste of this beer was of malt, lots of chocolate and, a slight roasted flavor with a slight hop aftertaste. It was very crisp and nicely carbonated. The body was light, smooth and, drinkable perfect for a session stout. This beer also had a light amount of lacing. This is one of the most refreshing stouts i have ever had. I will be very happy to drink this beer again.

Had the pleasure of being able to stop in at the LAB and try all of their offerings. I finished off the session with this nice little stout. Poured out a nice dark chocolate brown with a light tan head that reached a decent height before fading back down without much fan fare. Aroma was light and this was my only real gripe with it. Not enough depth to it and the chocolate was very hard to pick up in the smell, but the first sip would reveal an entirely different beast. Rich chocolate flowed across the palate, just rippling with intense flavor. Nice smooth, and silky feel here as well really showed off a quality and very drinkable stout. Nice touches of vanilla and a shade of a smokey note in the finish lended to a very nice and profoundly deep flavor. A smooth and very sweet finish left me looking for another sip as soon as I finished it.
Overall the perfect way to cap the day, really a very, very nice stout.
