Served at the brewpub from tap into a sampler shaker. Poured yellow-orange with a one finger slightly off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount quite quickly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt and citrus hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, citrus hop, and slight cream. It had a medium feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was a pretty nice IPA. It was nicely balanced and light. It was advertised at 84 IBUs but I don't think they all showed up for the party. It had a good aroma but it was fairly weak in intensity. This is a must try if you are in the area.

Ahh an new IPA. Probably the one style I can use to judge a new brewer the best as it is a hard one to hide a flaw in for sure. I hastily ordered this one up and enjoyed it with my burger. Pours a hazy, medium amber color with a light, wispy head that quickly faded and left behind only token lacing on the sides that itself faded out quite quickly in a few moments. Aroma is light, but balanced. Small amount of pine coming through now and a light touch of a biscuit like malt note in the back poking its head through. Smooth, easy transition on the flavor with light hops that barely oucker the tongue and a rich malt backbone that provides a decent amount of depth but the lack of a real hop bite really keeps it from going anywhere. Taste fades out quickly on me leaving me looking for more.

Overall it was decent, but nothing really standing out from the crowd here at all. Needs more hops! Very hard to tell the difference between this and the pale, seemed identical to me.

On tap at the LAB and same as it ever was.
Poured in a pint glass. A foggy orange with a full dirty white head that hung for a good minute. Almost no smell just a hint of orange. The first sip goes down smooth too easy with no bitterness, unfortunately. As it settles down your throat the hops start to make their precense known on the back but strong.
Second sip still no smell, bit of a resin feel on the tongue now, hops hitting the tip of the mouth too.
Overall an average IPA.

a: standard half-pint glass, the beer is a hazy orange-golden color, lots of white head with good retention, nice lace

s: first up on the nose is a pungent floral honeysuckle aroma - weird and a bit distracting, very perfumey, pale malt structure and some powdery yeast, grassy citrus aromas

m: carbonation medium-high, body light-medium

t: pale malt body of a moderate sweetness, flavors of honeysuckle, not sure if that's a hop contribution or what, some grass and citrus, bitterness levels around moderate, perfume lingering in the aftertaste

d: not really digging the floral side of this ipa - it's almost cloyingly so, especially on the nose, glad to not have full pint

served at the brewpub

On-tap at Lexington Avenue Brewery, Asheville, NC

A: The beer is clear yellowish amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that has good retention properties and hardly died down, also leaving lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of citrusy hops are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste is citrusy with flavors of oranges and grapefruit and also has a light to moderate amount of carbonation.
M: IT feels medium-bodied and relatively crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is a nice basic IPA and has nothing over the top in therms of hop flavors or too much bitterness.

On draft at the brewery.

Poured a hazy burnt orange hue with a half finger foy white head. There was decent retention and good lacing.

The smell featured muted tropical fruits and a heavy caramel malt.

The hops were tropical in nature and left a soapy aftertaste. The malts were present and slightly sweet, but finished dry.

Overall a subpar IPA. Certainly not Asheville's finest.

Served on-tap at LAB (Lexington Ave Brewery) in Asheville, NC

A: Pours a relatively clear golden amber in color with light amounts of active visible carbonation near the surface of the beer and some golden yellow + apricot highlights. The beer has a half finger tall off-white head that slowly reduces to a thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer with a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of citrus/orange and citrus/grapefruit hops over a lighter aroma of caramel malts.

T: Upfront there is a light flavor of caramel malts without much associated sweetness which is followed by light to moderate flavors of citrus/orange and citrus/grapefruit hops. Light amounts of bitterness which fade pretty quickly.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp.

O: An easy to drink and enjoyable simple IPA - not too aggressive in the flavors of the hops or the bitterness. Pretty well balanced.

First had: on tap at LAB, Asheville

Clearish amber pour with a small cap of white head that receded to a ringlet and left a bit of lacing on the glass. Light citrus hops in the aroma, distant biscuity malts. Citrus hops were the dominant factor in the taste, but still fairly muted, sweet caramel malt base with a touch of honey. Light-medium body, okay mouthfeel. Drinkable, but nothing great going on here.

Poured on-tap at the brewpub and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a bright, hazy, orange-copper coloring with a dense, foamy, clingy, white head. Nose of tangerine and apricot, cedar notes, and a subtle caramel and bready backbone. Flavors are roasted and tropical fruit forward, with pineapple and melon notes, on a peppery dry hopped backbone. Smooth and mid-bodied, with a spiced and bitter hops aftertaste. Smooth, dry finish, with a resinous linger. Solid brew!
