This is a marzen style beer. The head is slighty off white and the beer is copper colored. This beer has medium lacing. The smell of this beer is malty, floral, yeasty and has a slight smell of hops. This beer is slighty cloudy because it is unfilterd. The malt stands out over the hops with this beer. This would be a good session beer which would be normal for a marzen that is normally made for octoberfest. This beer is a very good example of a german marzan.

Labeled as 'Oktoberfest' when I went. Served at the brewpub from tap into a sampler shaker. Poured a hazy copper with a half finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, subtle hops, and subtle spices. The flavor was of sweet malt, hops, clove, and spices. It had a light feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this is a fairly decent Märzen if I'm honest. Flavors were okay, but nowhere near awe-inspiring. Had a decent aroma as well. This one is worth trying if you are at the brewpub while it is available on tap, but that is about it in my humble opinion.

Dark gold pour with a ring of off white head.
Aroma is mostly sweeter maltiness. Subdued like I found most of their brews for some reason. Maybe I had some alergies or something going on.
Taste was also sweet. Caramel, toffee. Not much earthiness or hop presence. Like a scotch ale without any toast, smoke or fruit.
To the heavy side of light. Carbonation could have been more or maybe it was just the overly sweet nature that made this one a bit of a chore.

This was easily my favorite of the day and the one that to me at least really showed some promise. A style I rarely see enough of I was thrilled to see it on the menu and at a respectable 6 percent should have no issue at holding its own. Nice pour, dark amber with a touch of even some ruby highlights bouncing around the edges. The sunlight through the glass reveals some nice clarity that is on par with a caramel color. Small head of just off white came up on the top and sat their prominently for a good few moments before edging back down into the glass and leaving just a touch of lacing around the sides that was reinforced throughout. Aroma was caramel malts, light herbal hop notes providing a touch of bitterness and a nice blend of bready malts that really shined through. Warming brought out a touch more of the bitter side for me, and kept it rolling right along. Crisp, clean, and very even flavor here. Just about where it should be as the rich and sweet notes of caramel bounced off a slightly dry hop note and a touch of almost grape skin like fruit popped up mid palate. Just enough to give you that little bit of a head turn and notice it. Nice medium body was full enough to fit the style but not too heavy as to way it down. Very, very drinkable I was really sad that I let this one go.
Overall this was easily my favorite. Nicely done rendition of the style that just really worked for me. I would have no issue having this one again.

Really enjoyed this marzen as it is true to the German style, and would certainly be an oktoberfest/fall seasonal to look forward to.
The color was a dark amber hue that had good clarity, with a minimal light cream head. Nice malt flavor that certainly conjures up memories of the fall. Very crisp and refreshing, and would make a great session beer. One of my favorites from LAB.

On-tap at The Lab
A: golden orange wit ha small tan head. Hazy.
S: German malt and some grassy notes underneath.
T: Earthy, lots of grass and pine, bit of spice. Nice rich malt layer underneath brings in light sweetness.
M: Great balanced medium body. Carbonation is abundant and cleansing, not a burden.
D: Great take on the classic. Not too sweet, plenty of earthy flavors.

The LAB "Oktoberfest" at a listed 7% and 25 ibus, on-tap in a weizen glass. Lightly hazy orange-brown with minimal off-white head. Smell: caramel, bready, with a little sweet red delicious apple. Taste: toasty, bready, caramel. Apple still here. Lightly spicy and leafy hopping. Sweet but with a decent balance and nice carbonation.
