On-tap at Lexington Avenue Brewery, Asheville, NC
A: The beer is clear amber in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high off white head that died down, consistently leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of spicy rye are present in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell but tastes more like a pale ale because it has notes of caramel malts in addition to the spiciness of the rye. There is a slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels a bit shy of being medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I liked this beer because it was easy to drink and the rye kept this from becoming a pedestrian pale ale.

First had: on tap at LAB, Asheville,
Clear mahogany pour with a thin white head; minimal lacing. Muted aroma, toasted grains, light fruity esters. Caramel malts in the taste, woody rye notes, light citrus and apple skin, herbal hops. Nothing really distinctive going on. Light-medium body, thin mouthfeel. Decent overall, but nothing great.
