On-tap at Pizza Port Ocean Beach
A - Poured a hazed yellow color with a white head that leaves lacing behind
S - Is a nose full of tart wheat
T - Follows the nose with the tart wheat plus some citrus flavor
M - This beer has a light body with medium carbonation to it
D - This is one of those rare styles that you never see so I was excited to see it on tap and was pleased with the glass of beer if you like this style of beer you'll like this one worth getting if you see it around

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ
A: The pour is a very hazy yellow color with a thin white head and surprisingly good lacing.
S: There is a hint of acidity on the nose, but for the most part it is sweet wheat and a bit of clove. Much more reminiscent of a hefeweizen than a Berliner weiss.
T: The tartness is nowhere to be found on the palate. Lots of German yeast notes with clove and a bit of banana. There is a fruitiness to it, but it's more sweet citrus.
M: The body is medium with a low to moderate level of carbonation.
D: This was a decent enough beer, but it's definitely not a Berliner weiss. I was certainly disappointed by this and found it difficult to score, because it's not a bad beer, but it's not as advertised.

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ,
A: Pours a translucent yellow with very good head retention for the style, light white head.
S: Bit of acid and lemon, not terribly aromatic, but has its good notes.
T: Orange hits immediately, very mild acid. The wheat tends to dominate here. Nice flavour.
M: We've got a problem here, where is the lactic acid? The hallmark of this beer style is completely muted. Overall, light-bodied, has a bit in common with a Berliner, but really it doesn't feel like it.
D: If Sudwerk labeled this Sudwerk Pale American Wheat Beer I would have liked it more because that's essentially what it is. Tasted blind this could never be thought of as a Berliner. Flavours are good, but it's a poor example of the style. I like Sudwerk, they make some really good German lagers, but this is not one of their better efforts.

at the brewhouse--a seaonal offering--served in a skinny 12 oz mug.
A - Hazy pale straw with crisp white head that settles to a skim cap with a ring, revived with a swirl, nice spotty lace.
S - Yeasty and light,y wheaty with notws of banana.
T - Lightly spicy wheat and yeasty with sweetness well in check. Some tropical fruit undertones and nice light but present malt body.
M - Super crisp ane effervescent with light prickly feel, medium-light feel with some creaminess and slight drying on the finish.
D - Super drinkable, and really a great example of the styler...am I in Davis or Berlin?
