We stopped by with a group of 13 a few weeks back. We were all very excited to give this joint a try. We had worked up quite a thirst for some craft beer. Upon entering, I was overwhelmed by the aisles of wine racks we had to navigate to get to the bar... (wine in a brewery, okay, I guess). It took a little over ten minutes to get us seated in a restaurant that was fairly empty for a Saturday afternoon, but we did have a large group to seat.
About two thirds of the group immediately ordered beer. After another ten minutes, our beer started arriving. A couple of us had Oatmeal Stout. The stout was absolutely spoiled! (Bad lines?) I sampled a friend's strong ale, which was very tasty but had a very noticable presence of soap (probably the glass).
On the other hand, the food was amazing.... all of it! These people had phenomenal food. Our table shared the food around. Steamed mussels, escargot, fresh pretzels, pasta... it was all fantastic!
Go for the food, drink the wine. Cheers.

I checked out this place on a visit to my grandfather's house. As we approached there was an outside dining area in front of the building. A chalkboard with the day's specials was in front of the door. We entered. There were tables covered with white table cloths. The bar was to the right. They has merchandise for sale that was wine-centric. Which made sense since there were racks of wine in the center of the room. We choose to sit in the patio area.
I ordered a flight which consisted of the four beers they made. Their other beer selections were all Michigan craft beers. They were mostly flagship beers of Michigan brewers, i.e. Bell's Oberon, Founders Centennial, etc. My flight included a wit, a summer porter, a strong ale, and a nut brown ale. The server said his favorite was the porter. It turned out to be mine as well.
We proceeded to order an appetizer, escargo. It was delicious. During the appetizer I noticed that the special board was removed then replaced. The specials were written on the opposite side of the board, so I asked if the scallops were still the special. They were listed as $13.99. He assured me that they were indeed the special. I ordered that because I knew grandpa would never let me pay.
We enjoyed our food. It was excellent. I excused myself to check out the inside of the place. I walked around to see if they brewed on premise. I saw nothing to indicate that they did and asked the bartender where they brewed. He said that they brewed right in the kitchen. I believe it was twenty gallons at a time. My favorite part of the building was the bathroom of all places. The sink was about four feet wide and two feet deep and full of river stones. The faucet was two pieces of plexiglass, so when the water ran between them it was like a waterfall on the rocks.
I returned to the table and grandpa received the bill. This is where I had a problem. He would not show me the bill, but said we did not receive the correct price on the special. He did not make a fuss about it. As we left, we looked at the special board and the scallops were indeed still the special. The price was changed to $25.99. I thought the server should have mentioned that when I inquired about the special. That is expensive for three scallops. The food was good, but I didn't want to run Grandpa's bill up. Overall, it was great food, high prices, and mediocre beer. Go if you are a wine lover.

Stopped here on an early Sunday afternoon and the place was pretty quiet. It’s really a nice restaurant that serves craft beer on the side. Nothing inside would give you the impression it’s a brewpub. They have four of their beers on tap which I understand they rotate from time to time. The wife and I tried samplers of all four and were not impressed. In fact, I was mostly disappointed. First was a dark lager that wasn’t too bad but was lacking a little in flavor. Next was a cherry wheat. I don’t care too much for wheats, especially flavored with fruit, so I naturally didn’t like it but my wife said it was just so so and she’s a big wheat drinker. Next we tried the IPA?? Can’t understand why they called it an IPA since it was hopless, more like a weak pale ale. Finally we had the brown ale and again very flavorless and in fact tasted a lot like the fake IPA. If you’re looking for a craft brewery scene and good homemade beer pass this place by.

Stopped by this place yesterday after discovering brewery in the Michigan Beer Guide. When you walk into the cafe one's presented with a fancy diner, with elegant settings and what looked to be a stone counter top.
I didn't eat at the place as I just ate right before going there. The menu ranged from Salads, to Seafood, and Steak. Pretty much had a little of everything for everyone. They also had a full bar, and a selection of 25 Michigan Brewed beers available for purchase in bottles.
Currently, they only have 3 beers they brew on tap: A Bourbon Stout, a Cream Ale and a IPA. There's also a Strong Ale brewed there but they were currently out. Naturally I had a sample of each of the beers available and was quite pleased. The Cream Ale was wonderful.
The prices were your typical prices for a craft beer, and they also had Growlers available for purchase.
I'd recommend going to this brew pub if your'e passing through town or looking for something new to try, being all the restaurants available nearby. Also curious to see, being that the brew pub is new what else will be instored for the future batches.
