Served into a Dupont ~12 oz. glass from 12 oz. bottle -- Finally, these People are bottling! So awesome!

Anyway, beer poured nearly a finger of pretty white head. Lacing isn't very strong as the glass empties, but the beer is a deep golden hazy color that makes me forget about it's retention.

The first smell is of lighter earthy tones (fresh cut grass, really), with rather faint hops coming through.

Taste up front is clean, bitter, somewhat piney -- really piney for a pils -- with tropical fruit barely poking through before it is snatched up by a bready malt relief. Bitterness chugs along underneath, as beer is noticeably watery. Nevertheless, malt slips and bitter, slightly alcohol finish leaves me ready for another sip. But, the longer it warms up the more the malt starts to take over, dominating the finish with a strong pale, yet bready finish.

Really enjoy what People's has to offer. Now that they are bottling, look for them in the Midwest when and wherever you can!

Quite a hoppy little devil, aren't you? Sharply grassy, spicy, and floral in taste but then with the support of pilsner malt and other vegital portions for an earthy sweet/bitter interplay.

People's Pilsner opens with a slightly hazy medium straw color and steady streams of carbonation. A light and sparse head tops the beer. Low in retention, but the lacing is ample despite such timid head character.

Aromas and flavors are heavily focused on vegital components that start with a spicy and grassy hop profile that develops into a gripping bitterness in finish. Along the way, the modest malt sweetness introduces flavors of raw grain, corn, and husk. Otherwise herbal, softly malty, and with an underlying cracker-like bready sweetness that is burried under the hop and grain profles.

Quite crisp, dry, and refreshing throughout. The early light creaminess is short lived as the beer ushers in a quick dryness, grainy bite, and slight alcohol warmth in finish.

Farily typical of German Lagers, I would have prefered a more herbal and floral hop character along with a smoother bitterness. I appreciate also the crisp malt flavor and feel, but would have liked less grain and corn taste to allow the clean malt crispness to shine.
