Pale amber color, brilliantly clear. Pours a moderate sized white head, creamy and with good retention.

Has some decent malt in the aroma, and a gentle hop aroma with some citrus and pine.

Flavor follows the aroma...some caramel malt sweetness followed by a slug of old school citrus/pine/earthy hop flavors. Has some decent bitterness in the finish, fitting with it being a more traditional IPA. Bitterness lingers into the finish and turns unpleasant.

Medium body and med-high carbonation. A bit drying on the tongue. This with the lingering, unpleasant bitterness has me wondering if there could be some oxidation. Not sure.

Aside from the unpleasant aftertaste, is a fairly classic IPA. Big malt and hops, and assertively bitter.

This review may be biased coming from right down the street from the brewery... but its honestly the best bottled IPA meaning excluding comparing to something on tap at a brewery. Its always fresh around town. The color is deep copper. Every time I crack one open a thick white vapor emerges with a intense hoppy piney bite. Never skunky and old tasting. Its the perfect balance of heavy and light color and taste, and a nice balanced alcohol content at 6.5% abv. Had a keg of this for a graduation party last year and it was one of the cheaper kegs peoples had available. Even by the bottle its cheaper than pretty much any other of the comparable beers. A win all around for mound builder.

SOOOO! This gets rated along with mass produced horse piss flavored PBR in the "okay" classification. Are you kidding me? I think that this has a great balance with 2 kinds of citrusy hops (columbus and centennial) added to some caramalts that give it a great taste. Macro brewed Pabst Blue Ribbon versus a craft brewery in a college town........no contest! ***** UPDATE**** Just yesterday when I rated this (drinking one now) it rated an "okay". Now it rates a "good" and I am good with that.

12 fl oz. can, bottom says iCanned on 11/05/15. My second beer from People's Brewing Company; acquired a single can as part of a mixed six pack at the local Binny's.

Poured to a Duvel tulip snifter.

A - Pours a deep golden caramel orange on the pour, about a finger of frothy soapy off-white head that falls to a ring. Some good sticky scattered lacing left behind. Appears adequately carbonated. Looks good.

S - Earthy, twiggy, honey, caramel, vanilla, & toffee malts. A bit of subtle earthy herbal hops are present, but the have been pushed to the background by the malt bill. Bit of horseradish.

T - Taste is the same: earthy, twiggy, creamy caramel, honey, & toffee, & dry piney earthy hop bitterness on the finish.

M - Feel is smooth, crisp, & creamy. Easy-drinking stuff, with good carbonation. Dry, earthy, herbal bitterness on the finish; lightly piney / resinous.

Overall, tasty and easy-drinking stuff, even after more than a few months in the can. Would love to try this one much fresher next time, but as it was, it was still pretty nice. Not sure why this beer has such low ratings, definitely a worthy IPA if it is available to you. Would recommend, and am interesting in trying more from People's Brewing Company.

Look - Copper to amber color. A thicker off white head and good amount of lacing

Smell - light fruitiness, floral, and a touch of citrus (not much)

Taste - Big co-humulone bitterness. It bites, but the bite fades somewhat quickly. Maybe a little later bittering hop addition?

Feel - A little creamier, not super dry, good carb.

12 oz. bottle into an IPA glass

A - Moderately heavy pour produces a 1.5 finger head that is off white in color with a bit of an orange tint to it. Head appearance is like that of skim milk froth and dissipates very slowly to a heavy rocky lacing. Beer itself is clear with moderate carbonation rising moderately quickly towards the surface. The color of the beer is a rose gold tinted dark amber. 4.25/5

S - Aroma is quite heavy on pine resin with a sweet caramel malt backbone. Grapefruit and citrus rind make up the remainder of the aroma with the pine resin being the major player and dominating the significant hop profile. 3.75/5

T - Caramel and cereal malt are the initial flavors that come out but these quickly transition to the hops, as they should. In terms of the hops, pine resin, grapefruit, and bitter citrus peel stand out and provide a quite bitter counter balance to the caramel lead in. Not as heavy flavored as a DIPA and not as light flavored as a session pale ale. Lingering bitterness on the back end but the bitterness is not overwhelming. A bit of toasted breadiness helps the malt balance out the hops. 3.75/5

M - Medium bodied pale ale that features a carbonation tickle on the front end which transitions to a light crips mouthfeel and back again to a slight carb burn on the back end. Moderate lingering dryness on the swallow reminds the imbiber of the hop presence in this beer. Drying is not overwhelming by any means. 4/5

O - This pale ale is quite approachable for hop lovers since it is fairly straightforward in terms of flavor profile but is also not overly bitter. Whereas many pale ales heavily rely on pine resin, grapefruit, or citrus peel, this pale ale balances the three and allows each to stand out and have its moment in the sun. Light enough to be sessionable but heavy enough to be paired with spicy food. 3.75/5

P: Golden amber, thick white frothy head that sticks around a long time.
A: Hops and malt.
T: Plenty of hops, lemon citrus, earth, resin with a good bit of bitterness.
M: It hits the pallet like cream. Good balance, medium bodied. Tonnes of tiny carbonation. The nitro gives it the creaminess I've been told.
O: Although, not your typical new style IPA, this is well worth trying. Skol Peoples!

NYD, just do yourself a favor and stay away from people’s stuff. Taste is just very sub par on this one. You like so many IPAs better than this one. Get those instead at the store or restaurant. If at a restaurant and no other micros are available... Get water. It’s healthy and won’t disappoint you.
