Found some tasting notes from Winterfest.
A- Pours a deep brown color. Half finger tan head shows light retention. Some light lace in specks line the glass.
S- Roasted malts with a hint of some darker fruits go hand in hand with this one. Cherry, fig, and light plum to me. Alcohol comes through in the ending aroma with a hint of light earthy piney hops.
T- Roasted malts in the front of the beer show off some light smoke to it I thought. Hints of cherry and fig come through toward the middle with a little bit of roast. The ending once again shows a little more one sided roast but ends with a light earthy hops and a hint of alcohol.
M- Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation was little higher than I expected. Roasted malts, hint of cheery and fig are left on the palate. Aftertaste is light alcohol and earthy hops, bigger roasted malts, and hint of fig. Balanced for the style. No off flavors were present. Light alcohol drying on the palate.
O- Overall a nice drinking beer. Nothing screams over the top but it is a nice above average stout. I liked the roasted malts they used which was good since this drank like a one trick horse most of the beer.

Poured a great deep brown to near black with decent head and decent lacing. Very nice aroma with a great deep roastiness and nice light fig tones, with a slight hoppiness. Deep and dark malt flavors with a slight caramel, deep fig, and wonderful roasted grain flavor. Goes down very smoothly especially for such a high abv brew.
