People's beers may be maddeningly inconsistent, but the taproom is always wonderful!

The brewery itself is located in a weird, sparse area of Lafayette that's like a cross between an industrial park and a retail zone. Like many breweries, it's in a converted warehouse, but unlike many breweries, the people of People's have not tried to excise the warehousiness from their taproom.

This isn't to say that the place seems overly industrial, or that it's uncomfortable. See, the taproom is the nice, comfy part of the warehouse. It's like if someone built a rec room right off of their garage. You can still see and smell the work area, but the relaxation area is homey and cozy.

The bar itself was built with wood scraps donated by local drinkers. It's long and narrow with seating for about 12 people, a small TV, and a free MAME arcade machine.

The decor is woody and mancave-ish. There's lots of posters announcing a local beer events and a wall of Midwestern growlers, but there's nothing edgy or aggressive about the place. Still, it's more harmless than it is bland.

People's ethos is built on friendliness, community, and accessibility ("beer for the people"). They do a damn fine job of reflecting that with their tap room.

One of The best things about living in the middle of nowhere,Indiana is being able to go get beer here.

The beer is awesome, inspiring an overwhelming feeling of reverence & admiration.

The atmosphere is one of cosmic bliss.

Went in today & they had some 72' grateful dead playing on the sound system-they usually have Bob Dylan or some old school blues playin' when i go in early on Wednesdays & that is always nice too.

cheers!

Great job People's Beer! keep it up! please.

Loved this place! Really great service and a good selection of their beers(12 taps 2 on nitro) made this one of my favorite brewpubs that I have visited in Indiana. The prices are also awesome, pints for 3.50 all the time! Definitely recommend stopping by here if you find yourself in Lafayette.

I'm glad I only live about 90 minutes away from Lafayette, because I found one of my favorite little tap rooms in People's Brewing Company.

This place is located just a tad outside of the lively area in Downtown Lafayette, so it definitely stands distinctly on its own in this way. From the outside it just looks like a converted warehouse and has an inviting, painted People's logo that covers an entire receiving door.

Inside is a compact tap room that is peppered just right with all sorts of People's-related goodies. The rotating selection had 12 taps on hand when we visited, featuring a variety of awesome brews. I'm a little biased because this has been one of my favorite breweries for the past couple of years, but I think most any craft beer lover would enjoy their time spent here.

The bartender during our visit was easily one of the best we've ever had anywhere. She was passionate about their beer, had a great sense of humor, and constantly kept us fresh on pints/half-pints/growlers all afternoon. Phenomenal service.

The only slight knock I could place on the selection was that nothing over 7% ABV was available. I was a little surprised to not see something like Space Cowboy, Hop Killa, etc. This is only a small gripe, though.

We will be back here every time we stop in Lafayette.
