Great bar! Fun, games (bocce, darts, pool, etc). Fantastic varied beer selection and fantastic atmosphere, albeit half of which is underground. Food is pretty good, even great for a bar. Can get crowded on Friday and Saturday nights so be prepared. Convenient parking.

Arrived around 3 pm on a Friday after visiting the fabulous Perrine's Wine Shop on the West Side. Pretty slow at the bar as you would expect. The bartender was very helpful and readily offered tastes of the 20 or so beers on tap. They have a nice variety of local, domestic, and international offerings. I can't comment much about the food. I had the hummus, which was rather plain, with nice, fresh veggies. ... There is a fun game area on the lower level that was already starting to get lively. I imagine this is would be a lively place in about 3 Hours.

I've been to Ormsby's a couple times, most recently in Feb '11.

It takes a bit of effort to find the place, as the bar is hidden on a below-street level of a multi-story building with a fairly non-descript door. I like it that way! Not too far from Atlantic Station or Midtown West (the Hop City, 5 Seasons area). The main level includes a straight bar with a couple of tvs tuned to sports, and several booths and tables on the other side. Lots of different materials used here: various woods, cement, exposed brick -- this really hits my personal preference as far as newer buildings go. As mentioned by others, there is a games area in the basement.

The beer list isn't terribly long, but there are always great beers available. About 20 taps, split almost evenly among Belgians, locals and American micros, with another random beer or two falling outside of these parameters (ie, something German). My most recent lunch included a glass of Port Mongo, possibly a hold-out from their Lost Abbey launch event - delicious! The bottle list is much less impressive, but there are some cool offerings (mostly Belgians)

Beer quality has never been an issue for me here - despite it's location making it sound like some sort of speak-easy, the place gets packed and the beer pours quickly. They don't use brewery glassware, rather, its typically snifters or pint glasses. Service is great during the day, but can slack off when they are very busy at night (bonus point: they know they are busy, so they include tax in the drink prices, to expedite the transaction -- more bars should do this)

Lastly, the food at Ormsby's is very good. Sandwiches go for about $10, and entrees can get up into the $15 range, but I tend to think the value still holds. I highly recommend the sweet potato fries as a side dish option -- I always opt for sweet potato fries whenever available, and Ormsby's makes the best I've ever had.

Value is reasonable to me - beer is a tad high, nothing too offensive, and the food, though expensive, is still worth it to me. I rarely rate bars anything above reasonable, though. I love Ormsby's, it's probably my 3rd favorite bar in Atlanta, behind only BSP and (close to) Leon's. Go now!

After driving 5.5 hours from Jacksonville we stopped here. again its another place that must have hated our looks, its 12:45pm we get seated in a booth by the restroom exit. Not all that bad at first.

Now the booth seats are the MOST god uncomfortable seats I ever sat in, a back so straight its just sad, they must have hired Airline seating experts to design those booths for maximum amount of people and minimum comfort. Ok we would have moved to a table but the service was so bad, as we found out later why.

ok 10 minutes after we sit down the girl finally comes over and has no patience with my wife at all. She does not want to offer any help and looked at my wife like she was from plant Mars or something. I wish we had just left then. The beer list was good so I guess that overrode my better judgment. I can see where this would be a great beer bar, lots of room, games downstairs and another bar. If I was single and just wanted to hang out downstairs it would be nice. But sadly we were there for lunch.

OK we order the food and I ordered a beer with a glass a water. 10 minutes later, I get the beer, no water. Now there is like only 3 tables full in the whole place and more are downstairs but they have there own wait staff downstairs. This place need some management, or better staff ASAP. ok 15 minutes later get the food and it looks ok, but my sandwich had no mustard(and it was supposed to according to the menu), period, we get nothing but Ketchup. Food ok but if you say a sandwich has mustard then put some on it. maybe this place rocks at night but daytime they suck.

I wanted to ask the waitress about it but she only came back about 15 minutes later, to ask how it was!!!! Way too late. Then about that time some of her friends come in, looking and sounding hung over, as they were. As we overheard they all been out late the night before parting(including the waitress), well they got great service and we got to hear all about their party the night before!!!

Anyway beer list great, prices a tad high for a sniffer of a cheap DuPont saison, but it was good. Value wise not a good deal. I would try the place again downstairs for beer and darts only.

Avoid the dinning room at lunch at all costs, if that girl is there, unless you know her of course. I just hate places like this with no management, no wonder the place was dead, the Whataburger across the way was PACKED, we should have eaten there and then maybe had a beer here. oh well we never go back now.

20 taps, 50 bottles, lame selection compared to Kickbacks 85 taps.

Went here for lunch after some recommendations from a few people, including Mr. Diamond there below.

Atmosphere is really cool. Just getting into the place gives you kind of a feeling of exclusivity as there is no sign and the door is marked only with an intricate "O". Once inside there are wood walls surrounding a good amount of tables with a nicely daylit copper bar to the right. Downstairs there are more tables, along with shuffleboard, pool, darts, and an indoor bocce court. The only thing that could make this better would be a carnival stand and a whack-a-mole station.

Quality is good. Beers were served in appropriate glassware with a good amount of head and at the correct temperature.

Service was very good. The bartender was very friendly and actually knew about the beers she was pouring. We didn't have to wait long for drinks or food either.

Selection is solid. It looks as though they have 12-15 staple beers on-tap along with four others that rotate more often. There were a few imports, including Duchesse, Dupont Foret, and Tripel Karmeliet, along with a good selection of locals, Sweetwater and Terrapin, and non-locals. They also have 30-40 bottles to choose from if you can't find something on-tap.

Food was good. I had the Friday special which was the fish and chips and was pleasantly surprised at how much food I received for a reasonable price, not to mention how well it was prepared.

Value on food is good, value on beer is a bit expensive but only by a dollar at most.

Overall I was pretty impressed with this place and will add it to the rotation of must-stops when friends come in town. Stop on by if you're in the area.

Checked out this new place last Friday and was very impressed. The pub is under Room & Board in the Westside Provisions building. West Midtown is certainly the place to be these days, with 5 Seasons, Hop City and Octane just down Howell Road from this place. No signage out front and barely visible from the street...quite the "speakeasy" vibe going on here. The building used to be a meat packing factory, hence all of the exposed brick and funky ceilings. Beautiful thick slabs of wooden stairs are in the middle of the main floor, with seating all around the open space. Bar area is off to the right with some table/couch seating.

20 or so taps with 100 in the bottle. My Ruination was poured perfectly in a .4L Karmeleit stem. All the taps were non-descript which looked very classy in this dimly lit, very unique pub setting. We ventured downstairs, where seating is first come, first serve. Again, bar off to the right with a good number of tables. In the very back is an indoor bocce court, yes! There was also some dart tables and a pool table. Also had a Two Hearted Ale & Sweetwater IPA, which all tasted fresh and poured just right.

Service was very good. When a very busy server noticed that I was looking for a table, he quickly asked me for the number of folks. After that, he sent a cocktail waitress over to us for a pre-dinner drink. Very classy. The place was packed, but our 3 Ruinations quickly arrived again poured to perfection. We finally sat and ordered calamari and pub fries for the table. Hands down the tastiest in town...fries were gorgeous and the calamari was lightly fried. I got the grass-fed burger, and not to keep throwing out "best evers" but hot damn was it good. Perfect med-rare with a soft potato bun and carmelized onions, mushrooms and provolone. These components just sang so well together.

Expect to wait on a weekend night...I would recommend going on an off-night.
