This was located at my hotel. It is on the second floor.

It has a modern sports bar vibe with high ceilings, curvy communal tables and a garish red light panel above the bar. There are a couple of side rooms with additional seating.

There are a ton of TVs, so it’s a good place to catch a game. The music is a mediocre mix of newish pop. It is loud so you will have to talk over it.

It has a typical hotel bar clientele that was slightly enlivened by the post Red Sox game fans.

Service was decent if tad slow. Food was tasty and came out fast.

Beer selection was impressive. I'm guessing 40 tap choices with most being craft. Selections from The Tap @ Harver Hill, Cape Ann, Jacks Abby, Slumbrew, Mayflower, Blue Hills, Clown Shoes and multiple selections from SA, Harpoon, etc. There was a nice mix of styles and brewers.

Worth a stop if you’re in this part of town.

On the 2nd floor of the Marriott hotel. Sports bar and restaurant, big wraparound wall of screens. Sterile, and cheesy pop music playing . But 48 beers on tap, about 1/4 are BMC, 1/4 are large regional craft beer (BBC, Harpoon, etc), then the rest are quality local craft beers. Good selection of styles. Service at the bar was just okay, and they serve all the beer in chilled glasses. I had the cajun fish tacos which were much better than expected.

I have been here once since it moved upstairs into the Copley Marriott. Has a very small footprint. Limited craft beer selection. Gets extremely crowded.

Nicely surprised to find a hotel bar with 38 beers on tap. Was very loud and crowded on the Friday night I stopped in. Lots of big screens with one gynormous one, a mini jumbo-tron, on the wall. Sam Adams and Harpoon dominate the list. Also had some decent regional selections, Smuttynose, Shipyard, Wachusett, Ipswich, Longtrail, Berkshire, Harpoon 100 series. None of their selections were particularly top notch, but there were several decent ones. Mostly session beers, nothing too strong or extreme. Most of their styles were middle of the road stuff, Pale Ales, lagers, a few IPAs, They were light on the darker styles, with no Stouts besides Guinness and no Porters. They did have a couple imports and only 3 macros.

Service was fast, Bartender was knowledgeable about the beers he had.

Overall, a very good hotel bar, if you are staying at the Marriott and don't want to brave the frequently miserable New England weather. But if you're looking for great craft beer, there are better choices n the area.

Stayed at the Marriot Copley Place as my hotel for the Extreme Beerfest 2010, Session II.
Overall I was surprised to find this bar inside the hotel/mall and even more surprised to see what they had on tap. It was a pretty good selection especially for a hotel bar - 2 x Buzzards Bay beers, a few Sam Adams, Harpoon, Magic Hats, Long Trails, and the one I was really looking for - the Wachussett Green Monster. Really an OK selection, the prices were average, the bar staff was friendly and knowledgeable enough about the beers to know what you wanted. The selection was geared more towards sessionable beers which makes me wish they had some stouts/porters on tap. They had some other stuff in bottles - Duvel, Chimay, Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout, but nothing on tap that would make this place much more than a quick pint or two with some bar food to watch a sports game. TV setup was impressive so that was a plus as well.
I did not order any food but the atmosphere was actually pretty good. I was surprised about that. It was open, upbeat, and a younger crowd was there, not what I was expecting (which would have been a bunch of tourists in town staying at the Marriot).
Overall, not bad, just average I would say, but convenient if you're in the Marriot.

Some co-workers wanted to grab a drink after work, and they chose Champions. Oh great, I thought, a hotel bar. But I knew that it was recently refurbished in the second half of 2009, so I was willing to check it out. Well, I can report that it's much better. Much more stylish looking than the old sports bar that it used to be. Now, it's a sleek & modern looking bar. Plenty of tvs to watch the games, with a gigantic flat screen built into the wall that's quite impressive. Also, as a beer geek, I noticed all the beer tap handles behind the bar. They have 36 beers on tap, and they have some good selections considering this is a hotel. They include: Allagash, Buzzards Bay x2, Dogfish Head x2, Mayflower, Sebago, Wachusett, plus Sam x 6, Harpoon x 5, and other local beers like Ipswich, Long Trail, Shipyard, and Magic Hat x 2. Bottled beer selection was a bit more pedestrian, but the tap menu definitely was a nice surprise. Service was good, prices were decent for a hotel in Copley and food was available. Champions would be a good place to watch a game, or to take a break from shopping if you are in the Copley area.
